AF 3 days late BFN. Stories!?

Hi all,

Haven't been on here since last September 2017 when I had a MC at 9 weeks but have been TTC ever since.

My periods initially were up in the air after the MC but for the last 7 months they have been on the nose at 27 day cycles.

As the title suggests, AF is 3 days late but I'm still getting BFNs. I even went out and bought a First Response extra early one today but still negative. I feel like I'm getting some symptoms, tired, breathless, a little nauseas, but don't know if I'm overthinking things.

Anyone else had this and then had a BFP later? I'm holding out hope as I don't know why else it would be so late.

I had the same this month. It's soul destroying. Mine arrived 4 days late so I presume I must have ovulated later than normal. I did a couple of tests and was so disappointed when they were negative.

Same here with my first. I didn't get a positive until I was about a week overdue. Assume it was because I ovulated later possibly; well that's my guess.

Interesting. It's so unusual as my cycle is normal so regular.

@BabarKingoftheElephants @MaverickSnoopy are yours regular? Just goes to show it can go either way. It's all so frustrating!

They were when I conceived my first which was over 7 years ago - bang on every 28 days.

If it's relevant and helps you, when I conceived my second my cycles were all over the place - every 26/27/28/29 days and I tested on day 30 and had a strong positive. In this pregnancy my cycles had gone to every 26 days and I got a good positive 3 days before I was due. I know in my current pregnancy I conceived right at the start of my fertile window (so not on day of ovulation). Not really sure what any of it means!!

I OP, I was over two weeks late on before I got my BFP. This was two weeks ago x

Really? @TokenGinger this gives me hope. I felt hopeful initially but 4 days in I feel like my period must just be around the corner. Congrats with your positive!!

Thank you :) Yep, I got my positive on day 45 of my cycle. I must have ovulated late because my Clear Blue only dated me at 1-2 weeks when I got it x

By any chance, have you ever had a positive before? When I got my positive last year I had no idea when my period was due as it happened straight after coming off the pill, makes me wonder whether a certain person doesn't generate HCG levels very quickly. My brain is on overdrive!

I’m in exactly the same situation! I’m 4 days late and I’ve now had 5 BFNs. I have been regular for months so no idea what’s going on. I haven’t taken a FRER only cheap tests so if it’s not here by Sunday I’ll take one of them. Your symptoms sound promising. I don’t really have any at all apart from the other day I got a weird stinging/burning feeling in my nipple which only lasted a few seconds. Bizarre!

The one thing I would say is don't symptom spot as if you had enough hcg for symptoms it should show on a test!

@GiGi18 it's so strange isn't it. I understand cycles can change but when you're used to them being so regular it's just hard to accept it's stress or something! Hmm, my symptoms do, but at the same time they could happen any other day and I'm just reading into it. Fingers crossed for us both, I just need to find out either way!

It's so annoying a few months back I was 5 days late and bfn but I always felt that my af was coming. Then last month I started spotting 4 days early! Currently sitting here anticipating spotting any day soon!

AF just arrived for me. I’m glad it’s here as I just knew it wasn’t my month. Hopefully I’ll not have any more irregular months. Fingers crossed it’s a good sign for you and you get your BFP in a couple of days!! Xx

Our bodies are so strange. Another BFN this morning. I'm sure I'm not pregnant or I'd have a positive by now, but so unsure as to why I'm so late. Time will tell I guess!

I had about 8 negative tests even days after I was due and then I stopped testing and just waited for af.
Don't know why I did another test a week later, didn't think I was pregnant as I'd only had my implant out 2 weeks before. But I did another test and it was a bfp. I'm now 16 weeks and still shocked

Wow. Congrats @justwantcheesee that was similar to me when I initially came off the pill. I didn't know when AF was due, tested after what I thought was a while and it was BFP. It seemed so easy then! I might give the testing a bit of a break!
