TTC with silly cycles

We are planning to start TTC DC2 next month, DC1 was a very happy surprise!

My cycles are awful, ranging from 28days to 49days. I have no idea when I ovulate (it at all). I’m currently on day 44, no period, not pregnant either. I haven’t paid much attention to my cycles, they’ve always been irregular (though I assume I should possibly get this checked out?)

So, assuming I am able to conceive naturally again, does anyone have any tips? Do I need ovulation tests? Thermometer? Just hope for the best?

Been waiting a year to start TTC so very excited, but slightly worried it won’t work due to my irregular cycles.

As crazy as this sounds I bought a pack of 50 cheap ovulation tests from amazon and from the day after my period ended I did one every morning and low and behold I ovulated, the next month I bought some better ones and did it around the same time as the previous positive ovulation and again it worked, it’s a bit of a faf but we tried for 6months before doing this method and I got pregnant on our 4th month, also use the Flo app, my cycles were 40days +/- but it worked for us Smile xxx

Definitely recommend getting some ovulation tests.

I have long irregular cycles and they helped. As did monitoring my CM.

I have a thermometer but that's only useful if you monitor for a few months!

Get some cheap opks from amazon and go from there Smile

Good luck!
