Hi ladies,

Hope you don’t mind me asking but I’m going crazy here.

So I’m 37 on Sunday Shock and mummy to a gorgeous 14month boy. I feel so blessed but can’t now shake off the feeling that one more would complete our family.

So after not really trying, we got pregnant in May but sadly I miscarried in July. Am beaten up with guilt over this as I couldn’t help feeling at the time that a 19m age gap was too small... Guess it’s something I have to live with.

So we started ‘not really trying last month’ as we were going on holiday. This month I’ve gone a bit crazy- downloaded an app and ‘got on it’. It’s still two days to go until the app says to test but I couldn’t wait. Anyway, yesterday I had two faint lines on clearblue and a Sainsbury’s test but today when I’ve tested on a pink dye I’ve had multiple negatives.

Deep down I know I’ve only tried for one month and the chances weee always going to be slim. Part of me is also thinking that no AF is good news.... but I’m 37. Partner 50. GP has reassured me after the MC that I’m not ‘past it’, had a healthy pregnancy and baby, got pregnant straightaway... but I’m a worrier and so impatient.

So how long did it take you for your BFP? X

Probably not what you want to hear but miscarried last Christmas, still Ttc....

physicskate · 10/10/2018 16:54

Had my second early miscarriage in March '17. Got pregnant via ivf in June '18. Was 33 (just) at the last mc and now 34 and a half...

Ttc is shit. Anyone who says it's magical is full of poop. I'm sorry to hear about your mc, but your doubts had absolutely no effect on it and serve no purpose now. Be kind to yourself!!!!

Good luck.

I took a year to get pregnant again after miscarriage (although I wanted a break so we didn't try immediately after, I guess we probably tried for nine months). This was when I was 36/37. I conceived dc1 and 2 first month of trying so it was a bit depressing.

Babycakes1989 · 10/10/2018 18:18

I’m on cycle 2 after I had a MMC in July - first pregnancy. I keep getting told to go with the flow and it will happen again when it happens but it’s so much easier said than done😢 I hope you get some good luck soon ❤️ I know how you feel. Having no control what so ever about what will happen makes me so anxious! Xx

I had a confirmed mc 18th August 2018, got my bfp 14th September 2018, now 8+2. Little miracles do happen! Wishing you lots of luck x

HalfBloodPrincess · 10/10/2018 23:15

I had a mmc in April at 11+ weeks, fell pregnant on my 4th cycle after.

sureitsgrand · 10/10/2018 23:29

Miscarried in the August, conceived following April. I totally put my life on hold and became obsessed. Conceived the month we decided to stop trying- maybe mentally it took the pressure off. Best of luck.

Twolittlebears · 10/10/2018 23:39

So so sorry for your loss OP.

We're very similar in age and I also had an older DC. My experience TTC DC2 was as follows: Conceived in May. MMC in Aug. Conceived again in September. MMC number 2 in Nov. Conceived for a third time in Jan. Baby now fast asleep in his cot.

Hope you have an easy journey from here.

Presh12345 · 11/10/2018 14:46

MMC June 2017. Still trying.

lexi727 · 11/10/2018 15:03

My best friend got pregnant 9 months after miscarriage, and that whole 9 months was TTC. Hope you're okay op

webster144 · 11/10/2018 15:03

Mc early Oct 17, just got a faint positive on a frer this morning. This month we used conceive plus and tried to relax a bit more x

Mouse14 · 11/10/2018 16:00

Thanks everyone. I know it’s just a numbers game really and nothing you can do but keep at it and wait but.... it’s totally rubbish!!

I’ve got to keep it in perspective- first proper month. AF arrived today so there’s always next time...

Lots of luck to those of you who are waiting it out this time around xxx

webster144 That’s brilliant news!

What’s conceive plus? I’ve heard lots of people say about the magic of relaxing! X

I miscarried in January 17, had a series of chemicals over the next 5/6 months, fell pregnant again in December 17, miscarried February this year, and then fell pregnant again beginning of May and am currently 24 weeks exactly :)

Ironytheoppositeofwrinkly · 11/10/2018 16:30

I can also speak for the magic of 'not trying' we had sex one time the entire month of May, 5 days before I ovulated (confirmed with temp) so thought we were out that month. Obviously not!

Gummybear14 · 11/10/2018 17:01

Conceived about 18 days later

MissDai5y · 11/10/2018 17:07

Had miscarriage, allowed for 1 period to happen and then just thought we'd see what happened and we were pregnant straight away.

Now have my dd who is 3.5mths and I've turned 36 in August. Hopefully I will have time to add a second as well before 40.

Good luck

Tawdrylocalbrouhaha · 11/10/2018 17:10

About 2 weeks. And it had taken years to get pregnant the first time, then miscarried at 12 weeks.

I wasn't expecting anything for ages, but (apparently?) a recent pregnancy increases the odds?
