Any successful IVF pregnancies/testaments post 42?

Hello

I am 42 and I do not have any children. With my partner we decided to try IVF with my own eggs and we are in the process of finding a clinic privately as NHS does not cover IVF for women 40+.

Are there any women who started IVF post 42 using their own eggs and which have led to a successful pregnancy?

Hi I'm also 42 we are just starting our first cycle of ivf so fingers crossed.
I have some friends that are midwives and they told me that they delivered ivf twins to a 56 year old so I'm living in hope! Grin

Hello coribeth.

Thank you very much for your note and I wish you all the best. May I ask what IVF clinic you went for?

May I also ask in which clinic your friends (midwives) worked when the lady who was 56 gave birth?

Personally I am overwhelmed both with the financial costs and also with everything I read about IVF clinics treating you like a number. But having a baby is something I really want to do and I am just hoping that I will be fortunate to find a clinic that will really care about me.

Warmest wishes for a successful conception from the very first cycle.
Happy to discuss over personal message as well if you want to speak to someone in a similar kind of journey or stage of life :)

Hi NV42 my friends work at Liverpool womens which is where we are having our Ivf treatment in the hewitt centre.
I know what you mean about the costs but we are going through a company called access fertility which basically means we get two goes for the price of one and as many fet as we have eggs for in between which we think is a good deal our consultant told us about them I guess we have been really lucky as our clinic has been nothing but supportive and are more than willing to chat on the phone if you have any questions or need advice but I have heard some horror stories about other clinics!
