Yammers thread 9!

Yammer rules:

A safe place for those of you who have been trying to conceive for 6+ months and even yams aren’t helping. Come and have a good ol’ bitch and a moan without judgement. Please read the rules before posting!

The Yam Commandments are as follows;

  • Thou shalt not arrive one day and post BFP next day
  • Thou shalt not give advice to others when TTC for one month only
  • Thou shalt not participate in one-up-manship and realise TTC is shit for everyone in different ways
  • Thou shall allow posters to be fucked off with the world and everything in it at regular points in the month
  • Thou shalt not be offended by strong language
  • Thou shalt not tell everyone to eat yams
  • Thou shall accept being called a muppet for testing at 7dpo at 9pm at night
  • Thou shalt not symptom spot during the two week wait and must be prepared for a telling off if you do so.

-Thou shalt not post pictures of positive pregnancy tests. We will be delighted to hear about it but no photos, please and thank you

Awww @Owlpatrol I honestly can't think of anything better. I'll have to rain myself in short of waving a pee stick around over Christmas dinner 😂🙈 I've not got my flashing smileys yet though so I might not ovulate soon enough to know x

Owlpatrol · 10/12/2018 18:33

Looks like I'm out anyway @impatientmammy had some pre fp spitting today I'm day 27 so fairly certain of it! Sad very doubtful it'll be implantation. No cramps really yet so expecting them tomorrow tbh booooo I'll be fertile during Christmas week, with a house full of people and no time to dtd.... I seriously need to do something in the new year

WishesFor2018 · 10/12/2018 21:49

Hi ladies, hope this is ok to post. I would have been due next July however i miscarried last month. I have no idea what to do with myself at the minute im driving myself crazy. I think i had a positve opk last Monday therefore think?? I am in tie TWW period. If i am pregnant will i get simula symptoms to my previous pregnancy i.e very tired and dizziness or could it be different. I have this almost sciatic pain in my right side of my back could this have anything to do with implantation or am i just crazy and looking into everything too much??

impatientmammy · 10/12/2018 22:32

@Owlpatrol in the summer we went away stayed in a house with my other half's aunty cousins sister brother parents and all their kids we managed to make it happen. I have faith in you 😂🙈 x

impatientmammy · 10/12/2018 22:38

@WishesFor2018 I'm sorry for your loss. I wish I could help but every pregnancy is different. We're all here when you need to vent. Did it take you long to get pregnant last time? X

WishesFor2018 · 10/12/2018 22:44

It look 13 months @impatientmammy It's been so frustrating. I know no one can say for sure but often i think we ask these questions for reassurance Dont you think? I mean theres no way to tell until we test! Bloody symptom sorting!! Thank you for your kind words x

impatientmammy · 10/12/2018 22:52

@WishesFor2018 i know what you mean. Every single month I feel sain(ish) until the 2ww then I start symptom spotting before any egg would have had any chance to implant then af arrives and I'm a wreck 😂🙄 did you do anything differently the month you got pregnant? I have my fingers crossed for you x

WishesFor2018 · 10/12/2018 23:04

@impatientmammy absolutely nothing! Since i came off my Pill i have no had regular cycles. I had three last year x

SparkwoodAnd21 · 12/12/2018 14:29

Since this is my last cycle, I thought I’d throw everything at at.

Anyone for yam?

Yam Fam!
SparkwoodAnd21 · 12/12/2018 14:30

SparkwoodAnd21 · 12/12/2018 14:31

Oh BGDino I’m so so sorry Flowers

Chooklass · 12/12/2018 17:17

DP is only here for half of fw so it’s got its work cut out for it...

Owlpatrol · 12/12/2018 18:51

Hi yammers, I reckon I'm cycle day 1 today, no real red blood but basically v heavy spotting which leads me to think it was an anvoluntary cycle this month Sad next fertile week will be Xmas week I'll have to use opks because not entirely sure when I'll ovulate. Hurumph pass the Xmas sherry already!! How's everyone doing?

Owlpatrol · 12/12/2018 18:53

That is a beast @SparkwoodAnd21 I've been trying yam root cream, it definately helps with hormones in some way!

Chooklass · 12/12/2018 19:09

I'm just totally fed up just now with this all. Feels pointless even trying any more. Think I'm ovulating today, dtd last night but neither of us could be arsed! Was supposed to have progesterone supplements to try by now but consultant forgot to write to my gp. Will have to wait til next cycle now (next year!!) as I have to start taking it after ov.

BGDino · 13/12/2018 05:35

@Chooklass know the feeling of waiting around to do something. Counting down the days until my next OB appointment (Jan 8) when we might get an idea of when we can try again. No point trying ourselves as I don't ovulate.

SparkwoodAnd21 · 14/12/2018 08:19

I’m officially in my last ever TWW. Giving up and making yam gin or some shit after this. I’ve got a few spare IC ovulation tests and some Proceive vitamins (only the men’s ones though). Anyone want them?

maddiie3 · 14/12/2018 08:30

Hi all, I deleted mumsnet app after having the bad news and made the account so long ago I can't seem to find what email it's under so I had to remake so hence the 3 at the end of orig username.

Turns out I wasn't having a miscarriage like the doctor warned, or atleast not yet. I'm 8 weeks today and we saw a healthy heartbeat a couple of days ago. It's still very early but I'm still in the game. Been signed off work with hyperemesis gravidium and feel awful all of the time but just happy to still have a glimmer of hope.

Just caught up on all of the thread since I last read, @BGDino I am so so sorry. That's truly awful and my heart breaks for you. Pregnancy is so terrifying I haven't enjoyed a second so far, it alll seems far too fragile. I hope you can try again as soon as you're ready and that you get your rainbow Flowers
And sorry for all the newcomers, BFNS etc.. I will never forget the heartbreak of seeing negative after negative for nearly 2 years straight.

Love to you all and a Merry Christmas I hope you all enjoy it despite the madness that is ttc.. xx

cupcakesandglitter · 14/12/2018 08:32

Sorry you feel like that @Chooklass 😩 it's fucking shit having to wait it out.

@SparkwoodAnd21 the yam!! That's massive. What's your plan after this month?

Could someone explain the deal with yam please? Blush

impatientmammy · 14/12/2018 09:30

@maddiie3 sorry your feeling so I'll but I'm pleased you have a sticky bean and hope it stays that way. Also I hated being pregnant the kicks and scans where lovely everything else was awful. I think people are scared to say it but many feel that way.
@cupcakesandglitter I thought the yam thing was just an old wives tale can you even get them in the uk? Sorry I don't know how they work.
Static smiley today and BD'd yesterday so will try keep going for the next few days. Might get myself a frer for my Christmas stocking 😂🙈 x

Si1ver · 14/12/2018 09:45

@maddiie3 that's brilliant news. Fingers crossed that everything stays ok.

The yam thing goes back many years ago stared into the distance one of the early members of the group, who'd been trying to get pregnant for years, was advised to eat yams by some woman who'd had a positive test after three months TTC.

impatientmammy · 14/12/2018 09:58

😂😂😂 @Si1ver that's amazing i love stuff like that (on reflection) at my "why the fuck am I not pregnant" drs appointment he politely suggested we try vaginal intercourse. No shit Sherlock 🤦🏻‍♀️ x

LimpLettice · 14/12/2018 11:25

Oh, we had a lovely (not) poster come in and tell us we were bitter old bitches who should just have more sex too. The yams was more lighthearted, even the poster who suggested them had the grace to be amused.

Maddiie I'm extremely pleased to hear this, altho sorry about the HG. I found this latest pregnancy terrifying after so many losses and couldn't relax enough to enjoy it. Just keep remembering the mantra, today, you are pregnant, and forget tomorrow and the day after.
