Yammers thread 9!

Yammer rules:

A safe place for those of you who have been trying to conceive for 6+ months and even yams aren’t helping. Come and have a good ol’ bitch and a moan without judgement. Please read the rules before posting!

The Yam Commandments are as follows;

  • Thou shalt not arrive one day and post BFP next day
  • Thou shalt not give advice to others when TTC for one month only
  • Thou shalt not participate in one-up-manship and realise TTC is shit for everyone in different ways
  • Thou shall allow posters to be fucked off with the world and everything in it at regular points in the month
  • Thou shalt not be offended by strong language
  • Thou shalt not tell everyone to eat yams
  • Thou shall accept being called a muppet for testing at 7dpo at 9pm at night
  • Thou shalt not symptom spot during the two week wait and must be prepared for a telling off if you do so.

-Thou shalt not post pictures of positive pregnancy tests. We will be delighted to hear about it but no photos, please and thank you

@Owlpatrol

@OrcinusOrca Hope fp stays away!! It must of been awful to get your hopes up and have them all dashed again. I always think it's hard just never getting a BFP but my heart goes out to those that do just to be disappointed.

My temp has stayed the exact same as the last few days, much higher than normal so I've got a pretty good feeling that I might have actually ovulated. I know PCOS can cause false positive opks but I had a positive opk one day, a dip and then my temps have gone right up and stayed high ever since. Not expecting to conceive this month (although I'm definitely hoping) but it's nice to know my body is doing something right despite the PCOS. Just want a BFP or AF so that this cycle can end and I can start the clomid. My boobs are so sore but have been ever since ov so can't be a symptom and I'm not letting myself focus on it at all so feeling generally ok. Keep arguing with DH about his sperm test though!! Been on waiting list for months and he's now decided he wants to cancel it.. men!! I will drag him there by his balls if he keeps it up

maddiie · 07/11/2018 15:16

@Owlpatrol There was supposed to be flowers there.. not sure what happened. Xx

OrcinusOrca · 07/11/2018 16:11

I used to think the same @maddiie but then it feels like life is taunting you that bit more ☹️

Shame your other half is being silly! What's his reasoning? Mine was absolutely dreading it but he said it really wasn't that bad in the end. The build up isn't great I'm sure but I feel like us ladies get subjected to worse! Glad you are getting somewhere with temping, you must feel quite relieved.

Owlpatrol · 07/11/2018 18:28

Aww thank you @OrcinusOrca @maddiie my day turned around a little in the end but I am on an emotional rollercoaster today. Fp due around the 16th so could test Friday potentially...when's yours due?

maddiie · 07/11/2018 18:35

@OrcinusOrca He doesn't want to be told there's a problem so doesn't want to do it. Ignorance is bliss apparently. He's not getting out of it, so far I've had 4 doctors appointments, 2 hospital appointments, 2 scans, 3 sets of blood tests and hormone tests.. he can wank into a bloody pot!!

@Owlpatrol Flo is predicting fp will be 18th, Natural cycles is predicting the 15th. I haven't got a clue because both of those would be a relatively normal cycle.. my periods are usually between 90-120 days so I highly doubt either of them but if I have ovulated like I suspect maybe I will actually have a normal cycle for once.. I won't hold my breath though!

maddiie · 07/11/2018 18:36

@Owlpatrol My cycles not my periods*

Owlpatrol · 07/11/2018 18:38

@maddiie snap to the dp not wanting to test....here we are two years later I'm aparently "fine " apart from I'd like a hycosy and do still not had testing!!

Owlpatrol · 07/11/2018 18:39

Dp *

maddiie · 07/11/2018 18:41

@Owlpatrol Men!! I do feel for him a little bit, not because he has to do it.. just because the samples have been to produced within the hour of the appointments, they don't have the facilities to produce the samples there and the appointment is 2 hours away from us...

Chooklass · 07/11/2018 19:32

Ugh! Men not wanting to do sperm tests proper gives me the RAGE!! My FP was a lot less whingy once he'd seen the awful, invasive tests I've had to endure. For a while it made me wonder how much he actually wanted a baby. FFS. His first was bad, but he cut down on booze and took some vits - his latest test showed it was fine, so there are loads of simple measures which can make a big difference to male fertility issues (unlike female ones...). Rant over!

Pinkemi · 07/11/2018 21:38

My DH was using a vitamin called proxseed which helped increase his sperm count! But then he did also lose about a 1.5stone and cut down on drinking too.. so that probably helped. Worth trying i think.

He did also say that producing the sample wasnt as bad as he thought it would be. Couldn't you guys go in and give them a hand? Grin

maddiie · 07/11/2018 22:42

@Pinkemi even if I give him a hand it's still awkward with the timings. Can't believe they don't provide any facilities there. With an hour to produce a sample and a two hour drive there it's looking like production will have t take place IN the car 😳

Chooklass · 08/11/2018 05:41

@maddiie that's awful! They must have 'production rooms' for people over an hour away? When DP got his letter about sperm test they stressed that producing a sample in a public place (eg toilets) was illegal!

OPKs gone straight from low to peak today. Need to get on with it... can't be arse d. I know I'm not going to get pregnant anyway.

Pinkemi · 08/11/2018 07:43

Im not sure whats going on.. but have to admit pretty upset! Did another test this morning.. panicked as i dont think i left it in the cup for long enough.. so did another one and left it in for longer.

First test.. the second line is so faint it could be a shadow..

Second test.. line is there but its a lot fainter than yesterday. Sad

Why didnt i just listen to the nurses and did another in a COUPLE of days.. and not the day after. Sad

Holding out hope that my urine is just very diluted coz of the amount i drink and the levels are just low... or coz im so overweight its struggling to pick the levels up this early on through the fat!! Confused

Clinic doesnt do a blood test.. wonder if i could ask my doctor to do one...

JustLikeTheySaid · 08/11/2018 08:21

Sorry pinkemi I managed to totally skip out a page of responses here and missed your BFP!

A line is a line. I wouldn't worry too much about anything else if you possibly can. All sorts of things must make an impact on the darkness of colour.

Deep, positive breathing. Xx

Pinkemi · 08/11/2018 08:54

Thanks love! That's exactly what my husbands said!

Im not going to test until Sat or something... and then no more!!

maddiie · 08/11/2018 09:37

@Chooklass Thats what I thought but on the letter it said there's no facilities available on site and I rang them and they said no. It's in a hospital 2 hours away you'd think they'd have a room somewhere but apparently not. Really not sure what to do about it! Don't want to pay for a hotel room just for an hour I'd look like a hooker

Pinkemi · 08/11/2018 09:41

*Husband... not husbands... i couldn't put up with more than one! Grin

@Maddiie How frustrating for you! Could you go to a different hospital?

maddiie · 08/11/2018 10:22

@Pinkemi Waited months for this appointment, don't really want to rearrange and any other hospital would be an even longer drive 😭 I hate living so rurally sometimes

Pinkemi · 08/11/2018 11:34

@Si1ver This may be a stupid question.. But i'm not really sure what I am doing. When did you book your first midwife appointment? Should I have done it by now? Or is this something you do once you have been discharged from the clinic at 7 weeks?

@Maddiie I'm sorry to hear this.. I know it's not great.. but what about in the disabled loos at the hospital? Confused

Si1ver · 08/11/2018 12:34

@Pinkemi I waited until we'd seen a heartbeat on the 7 week scan. I didn't actually get discharged as such because of my follow up treatment being private in the UK rather than with the clinic.

Pinkemi · 08/11/2018 12:41

I was thinking i should do the same.. mainly coz im a little worried about how faint the lines are. But then.. i want to discuss with my midwife etc about monitoring my weight whilst pregnant.. doing something like slimming world.. coz im really worried about how heavy i am. (Have a BMI over 35 now. Sad ) dunno what to do!

Also its coming up to a really busy time at work (december) where they get funny about you having time off.. not sure how im gonna keep it a secret. Urgh!

Si1ver · 08/11/2018 12:49

It's hard isn't it? You worry about it working and then about the lines and then about the scans. About being sick and then not being sick and your boobs not hurting enough. I wish I could tell you it gets easier.

Maybe have a look at starting to follow a gestational diabetes diet now if you're worried, it's all about stabilising your blood sugar and apparently helps people lose weight too. But honestly, you're probably going to need to eat what you're able to in the first trimester so don't be too hard on yourself.

There's good resources here gestationaldiabetes.co.uk

Pinkemi · 08/11/2018 13:07

@Si1ver Thanks for this.. I will take a look!

The nursing team a the clinic basically told me to stop worrying about it over the weekend.. and to take another test on Saturday.. And to then call the GP on Monday and get myself booked in. Just kicking myself for not doing something about it sooner!

Just keep worrying that its not working.. you know?! I dont really have any symptoms apart from those which could be due to the progesterone pessaries: feeling tired, increased CM and bloating.

Other then a few boob twinges every now and then.. you wouldn't even know!

I think i need to step away from tests and google!!!!
