Yammers thread 9!

Yammer rules:

A safe place for those of you who have been trying to conceive for 6+ months and even yams aren’t helping. Come and have a good ol’ bitch and a moan without judgement. Please read the rules before posting!

The Yam Commandments are as follows;

  • Thou shalt not arrive one day and post BFP next day
  • Thou shalt not give advice to others when TTC for one month only
  • Thou shalt not participate in one-up-manship and realise TTC is shit for everyone in different ways
  • Thou shall allow posters to be fucked off with the world and everything in it at regular points in the month
  • Thou shalt not be offended by strong language
  • Thou shalt not tell everyone to eat yams
  • Thou shall accept being called a muppet for testing at 7dpo at 9pm at night
  • Thou shalt not symptom spot during the two week wait and must be prepared for a telling off if you do so.

-Thou shalt not post pictures of positive pregnancy tests. We will be delighted to hear about it but no photos, please and thank you

Keeping my fingers tightly crossed for you, Pinkemi.

I've got period type cramps today except it is only day 12. They don't feel like ovulation cramps because they've been here for two full days now. Not sure what's going on. Lots of white discharge so I wouldnt have said I'm fertile yet.

Currently haven't done any ovulation stick tests or anything this month. Feels like there is no point. But now I've got these weird cramps maybe I should.

Owlpatrol · 05/11/2018 19:33

@JustLikeTheySaid yes definately, I had them this month and it was only opks that gave me hope. Though I didn't get an actual positive so might have missed it

OrcinusOrca · 05/11/2018 19:39

All this talk of testing send me crazy and I POAS which was obviously negative! Don't know what's gotten into me. 9DPO so guess I could well be out now. Just so weird that I have NO spotting yet, I don't understand it. I am not a serial tester either?!

I know what you mean about putting things on hold @Chooklass I've got an MRI in a few weeks and its post ovulation so I should skip TTC that month really so I can have it. And it's my friend's wedding next August so I should definitely skip next month. But, but

OrcinusOrca · 05/11/2018 19:40

Also I can't seem to post any MN emoticons?! Anyone else..?

Cardi86 · 05/11/2018 21:02

Just bought some digital ovulation tests for the first time, sick of squinting at OPKs every month! Has anyone else used the digitalis? I’m CD 11 today and still negative

Pinkemi · 05/11/2018 21:16

@Cardi86 i used the clearblue digital ones for a couple of months! My only advice is make sure you start using them early enough because the first reading will always be negative. They use this as a baseline to work against. I liked them but they are so expensive!

@OrcinusOrca i can still use the emoticons.. Hmm interestingly.. i have quoted you so and times now.. my predictive text has remembered your name. Grin same with @owlpatrol and @chooklass.

Cardi86 · 05/11/2018 22:16

Thanks @Pinkemi, I had no idea about the timings! Hopefully I didn’t leave it too late. Normally my cycles are 30-31 days so hopefully be ok!

Chooklass · 06/11/2018 08:39

I much prefer the digi's @Cardi86 - it's less stressful getting a definite result. They are outrageously pricy compared to the cheap strips though and I hate the environmental impact of peeing on then chucking all those bits of plastic (same with preg tests).

It took me a few months to realise you can reuse the handle bit! They don't work again for 2 days after you get a +ve, but they will work again the next cycle, so I tended to buy biggest pack and use for a couple of cycles (not sure if that's the case with both the normal and advanced cb digi's - I was using advanced).

Any of you any good with charting? I thought this was pretty concrete that I had ovulated, OPKS and the app confirmed it as well. My friends just pointed out my temperatures since ov haven't been close enough together for it of actually been ov currently CD21.

ImpatientMammy · 06/11/2018 08:52

I hope there's some BFPs this month sounds like a few of you have a good feeling about it.
CD1 here at last I'm actually relieved and I'm set to be fertile in Tenerife so I'm excited. Gunna pop to the shops and get some vitimans x

ImpatientMammy · 06/11/2018 08:58

My temps where always to rocky to get any good at charting i didn't know they needed to be close together sorry @maddiie x

OrcinusOrca · 06/11/2018 10:58

I'm not sure what your friend means @maddiie ? Your CD10 one seems quite high doesn't it. Mine from this cycle:

OrcinusOrca · 06/11/2018 11:23

I've just messed around with settings on FF and if I use FAM instead of Advanced it says I O'd on CD18..! Why is nothing ever simple...

maddiie · 06/11/2018 11:28

@OrcinusOrca Yeah not sure what happened CD10, I'd only just started so temping may of been user error in taking it. Do you think besides that day the rest of this chart looks somewhat positive that I've ovulated?

OrcinusOrca · 06/11/2018 12:03

I think so, providing your temps carry on rising a bit more. If they stay similar to what they are now I'm not so sure, just because it's not a particularly significant rise compared to your baseline. PCOS lends itself to Rocky Mountain type graphs so it is harder to spot trends. I think I could have ovulated anywhere from CD14-18 this time, I was going by CD15 but who knows!

Pinkemi · 06/11/2018 12:08

Guys freaking out...

Ive felt a bit nauseous today.. and (TMI but...) have had pretty bad dirrahea most of the day.

I just went to the loo and had a small amount of Fresh red blood on the tissue. Wiped a couple of times again and nothing.. Confused

I'm hoping its just.. rawness from where I have been wiping.. and nothing else! Its too late for implantation bleeding as I am now 10dp5dt.

I think I'm going to test tonight before my OTD tomorrow morning.. that way if it is negative.. I have got most of my crying done tonight.

So.. need to not drink for 4 hours right?? Gonna be hard coz im really thirsty today.

Hate this so much..

OrcinusOrca · 06/11/2018 12:13

@Pinkemi

(Hope the flowers have worked). Yes try not to drink for four hours. So many people seem to get bits of bleeding it doesn't necessarily mean anything at all. When would your FP have been due?

Pinkemi · 06/11/2018 12:51

@OrcinusOrca they didnt.. but thank you for the gesture anyway. Smile

Ive done some googling.. (as you do) and most people get brown or light pink spotting... not bright red. Sad The only thing I can see about bright red is FP trying to start or irritation from the vaginal suppositories.

Trying not to think about it being FP trying to break through... I dont really want to cry at work. Sad

FP would have been due yesterday if I was on a normal cycle.

Chooklass · 06/11/2018 13:29

Ah @Pinkemi - I can't imagine how stressful this must be for you!

My FP just arrived 2 days early. Took me by surprise a bit as I usually get really painful cramps - maybe the low sugar diet is making a difference. Oh well, at least I've got something new to try next cycle!

OP posts:
Si1ver · 06/11/2018 13:33

@Pinkemi bright red can be anything. From pessaries irritating you to your egg retrieval site being upset to a totally separate uterine bleed and NOT your lining.

Is your husband going to be home tonight?

Pinkemi · 06/11/2018 13:40

@Si1ver.. but surely these things would have happened a lot sooner than now? like my egg retrieval site being upset..

yeah husband is home tonight and I have told him that I am testing tonight.. I don't care what he says! He's worried about me getting a false negative because my urine will be too diluted (I drink a lot because I get thirsty a lot) and doesn't want me to cry for no reasons. He's also worried that its too early.. but at 10dp5dt... if it had worked... it should show by now!

I'm feeling a little foolish as have just fired off a "freaking out" style email to my IVF clinic.. Blush I'm sure they get it a lot.. but after having weeks of nothing.. seeing bright red on your tissue after going to the loo is AWFUL. I honestly went all shaky and horrible... god knows what I am going to be like later after testing and its a negative. Sad Might get my husband to stock up on chocolate and ice cream.. already have the booze in the house! ha!

Pinkemi · 06/11/2018 13:42

Just synced my fitbit and my resting heart rate has jumped up from 59 to 62! Must be the stress! haha

Pinkemi · 06/11/2018 15:49

Just had a response from the nursing team.. and its made me feel worse! haha.

It basically said "I wish I could tell you that everything is okay.. but it might not be so I can't. All i can say is good luck for your test day tomorrow."

I AM SO THIRSTY! I just want to guzzle a load of water! Been sipping very small sips at my water since about 2:30 so I dont have diluted urine for when I get home from work. lol

ivf2019 · 06/11/2018 15:52

Oh gosh good luck tonight PinkEmi - will have fingers and toes crossed.
Definitely get the chocolate and ice cream in but let's hope it's for a booze-free celebration rather than comfort!

Chook sorry FP is here. How have you found being low sugar? I could do with dropping a stone (blargh) and definitely have far too much of a sweet tooth..

Cardi86 · 06/11/2018 16:46

@Pinkemi fingers crossed for you everything is ok x
Thanks @Chooklass sorry FP has arrived, how long was your cycle? I think I might have messed up the digital tests- I did the first one yesterday afternoon which was negative, this mornings was a flashing smiley but I’m convinced it’s a false positive because I didn’t use a morning urine as the baseline! V annoyed with myself as they are so expensive!! I guess I’ll have to wait for the peak fertility smiley to make sure
