my cycle is 29d, no more, no less. even down to the time of day my period arrives. last month it was 2 days late and this month i am on CD10 but have been getting ov pains today. i had a HSG on monday do you think i have ov'd or its to do with the HSG? didnt have any pains yesterday at all

hi

if anything is going to vary month to month, it is the pre-ov phase, rather than lp, i think. dont forget your hsg may have caused some trauma to it all-it may just be pain related to that. do you have/can you buy an opk?

lissie · 13/06/2007 14:38

i tend not to use them tbh. i thought it might have been my body sorting itself out a bit. after my 2nd mc my period was 4d late then the next one was 2d early, so was the one after that

Hi lissie. How are you?

Even if you have a regular cycle, ovulation can vary by a few days within that, so yes, it is possible.

lissie · 13/06/2007 14:44

fine thanks, you?

im pretty sure it was ov pain. luckily we did bd last night, but will assume that i have 4d left to ov

I expect it the hsg Lissie Pink elephant had pain etc afterwards. get some bding just in case though.

berolina · 13/06/2007 14:45

I'm doing well, thanks

unless I'm very wrong, I'm pretty sure the 14 days between ov and period thing (however long the cycle) is a rule of thumb that can vary - which is quite plausible if you think about how complex all those balances of hormones and processes are - little things coule easily 'upset' them.

A person can ovulate earlier, later or not at all in ANY given cycle.

If the HSG was done on Monday then it probably isn't related to that.

sparklygothkat · 13/06/2007 14:48

I ov. on day 11 with this pregnancy. According to my LMP I sould be due on the 12th nov, I am actually due on the 8th

lissie · 13/06/2007 14:48

could the HSG have prompted early ov then?

Would not have thought so. Ovulation is driven by hormones.

well, starting spotting last night so rang up docs this morning and apparently its quite normal, just the gunk from my tube responding to gravity. this ttc larks disgusting!
