Ladies!

I'm feeling anxious and excited!

My story goes....came off the pill Dec 2017 and I've been temping, using OPKs, fertility lube ever since.

Tracking my cycles made me realise that my luteal phase is very short (between 4-8 days) before my period arrives. I saw my GP who did bloods tests, ultra sounds and I am due a HSG next week to check my tubes and ovaries with the intention to be prescribed clomid by my doctor later this month.

This cycle as predicted my temp dropped at 9dpo and I started what I thought was my period. My period has just finished today (14dpo). I thought I'd just do a pregnancy test to make sure before the HSG test and because I've felt light headed and a bit nauseous over the last week. Did an Internet cheapie and got my first ever BFP in 10 months!!!

I plan to do a frer in the morning but I'm just concerned that I've just had my period? I thought implantation bleeding only lasted 1/2 days and was only a little bleed but I've just had a normal period.

I don't know whether to be happy yet or worried. Can anyone advise? Xoxo

Was it a normal period @gossipgirl28?

Mummytoboyxx · 05/10/2018 21:38

It could be a chemical. Was it normal bleeding? I bled and then still tested positive 4 weeks later. I’m really hoping for you though that it was heavy implantation bleeding x

physicskate · 05/10/2018 22:07

Some women do bleed when af was due and have normal pregnancies. Congrats - I'm sure 10 months feels like a lifetime, but I promise it is totally normal and is not indicative of any issues.

gossipgirl28 · 05/10/2018 22:13

Thank you for all your replies. I just didn't expect the test to be positive as the 'implantation bleeding' was just like a normal period.
Started bleeding 9dpo and I'm 14dpo today and stopped bleeding yesterday. Just so happened by chance to test prior to HSG to rule out pregnancy.
A lovely shocking surprise, hope it's real xoxo

My mum had 2-3 normal periods when pregnant with me apparently. She didn't realise she was pregnant and wrote off sickness as a bug at first. It does happen. Good luck x

Periods during pregnancy are not unheard of so I have everything crossed for you.
Ask your gp for blood tests to track your HCG levels x

Hi I would contact your gp to check everything's ok.as other posters have said bleeding in pregnancy can be normal. However I had this earlier in the year and like you was concerned about it being ectopic. After a lot of tests and 2 weeks waiting for a scan it was diagnosed as being ectopic and had surgery to remove it and my tube the next day. I Wasn't a high risk for ectopic just unlucky really. I hope everything turns out well for you but please do get checked out.

Blondemother · 06/10/2018 08:02

I had what I thought was a normal period but I was pregnant and everything was fine!
I went to my GP who referred me for an early scan due to the bleeding, I would go and speak to someone just to check.

gossipgirl28 · 10/10/2018 06:14

I phoned my doctor who said that many women can bleed and go o to have a normal pregnancy and even bleed throughout.
He did mention the small chance that I've had a miscarriage and the pregnancy hormone is still in my body.
My doctor told me to take a test on Monday and if it's positive he will send me for an early scan at 6 weeks.
I've taken more pregnancy tests and they are all strong positives and my temps are high too.
So so nervous and anxious constantly at the moment. Xoxo
