Hi all

New poster but have been reading posts for a while! Me and hubby are TTC at the moment but finding it hard to keep positive. We have only been trying for a few months so I know we have a long way to go but always praying for a miracle as this is my biggest wish! Docs also found two endometriotic cysts on my left ovary earlier on the year however a scan was done and they didn't seem concerned.

Have been using OVIA app but it seems to contradict all the ovulation calculators I use online, FlO is pretty much the same as OVIA give or take 1 day. Used an OPK on both days the apps said I was meant to be Ovulating but both came back negative. Have also started using Fertility check from Superdrug and have been taking Seven Seas trying for a baby since May!

Any tips/positive thoughts are always welcome.

xx

Hi my tip would be to use the ovulation sticks as that works best for me! I start testing on day 11 of my cycle, I will keep testing each day until I get a faint line and then I will up it to twice a day. I know they say a faint line isn’t positive but it helps me to know that I will get a positive soon 😊 I have been tracking my cycles for a few months and seems to work best this way so I don’t miss it! This is the first month we are going to Start trying tho.. but this is what I did for my first and get pregnant quickly! what day of your cycle are you? X

Hi! I am cycle day 18 (cycle is usually 30 days long).

The wait between conceiving and waiting to test is painful.

Hoping for a miracle soon!

Hi tanna the 2 week wait is so long! Let’s hope this is a lucky bus 😊
Will you wait for AF to be due before doing a test?

MrsTanna1 · 04/10/2018 12:41

@Rightnow1245 yes as I've heard its best to wait until AF is due? The waiting is killing me. Hoping this month will be our month!

Yes definitely best to wait as you’ll get a better reading 😊 fingers crossed for you 🤞🏽 X

MrsTanna1 · 04/10/2018 14:11

Rightnow1245 thank you! AF is not due until the 17th but my boobs are so sore and I keep feeling dizzy.

Hoping its good news xx

If AF isn't due for another 13 days you're probably just past/around the time of ovulation now which might be why you've got sore boobs & dizziness. I get weird nausea around ovulation.

It'd be far too early for symptoms if you were pregnant - the earliest you might see a positive test is around 10 days after ovulation so wait until at least then (easier said than done, I know!). Good luck xx

Hi @MrsTanna1!

I'm also TTC baby number 1 (I'm 27), I use the Flo app as well and have tried using ovulation detection sticks for a couple of cycles but have never had even a faint positive, either because I didn't ovulate or didn't test at the right time - they say you aren't supposed to use FMU but I find it difficult to find another time of day when I can test as don't want to do it at work! Blush

Have just started using my fitbit to track resting heart rate as I've heard that can also be revealing.

I'm on cycle 12 but I have long cycles so that has been well over a year! Currently having blood tests to check for PCOS as I have some of the symptoms including horrendous weight gain since I came off the pill, so I'm focusing on trying to be really healthy at the moment to maximise our chances. Have been quite lazy in taking supplements over the last few months (been feeling a bit crap about the whole TTC thing and felt a bit like giving up for a bit!) but I'm back on it from this week, I've bought myself one of those pots that old people have to remind them to take tablets Grin!

Its really hard especially when everyone and their dog seems to be pregnant or having babies, but keep positive and you will get there! I keep telling myself it will be worth the wait, and every month I don't get pg is a month of savings for baby fund Smile

@ivf2019 @Rightnow1245 @craftycanary thanks guys! Lovely to hear other peoples opinions and journeys.

Its wierd, i never get car sick but a few times lately I've been feeling extra nauseous in the car when DH is driving. What I cant get my head around is how OVIA/FLO can be the complete opposite to other ovulation calculators. Yes it is disheartening when I see everyone around me getting pregnant. I am trying everything, supplements, fertility gel, cutting out caffeine, sex every other day. Nothing seems to work! good to know there is a support system out there :) DH just doesnt seem to understand when I get disheartened with a BFN. Think for guys its easier to just get over it and move on :|

@MrsTanna1 just remember it is normal not to ovulate on every cycle, lots of people have anovulatory cycles a few times a year so even if you were doing everything right you could just not ovulate that cycle.

My DH was the same at the start, didn't really 'get it' - but over the last year I think he has come to understand what it feels like. I think as women we tend to think that it's our fault when it doesn't happen, especially when we know we have various other issues to contend with like PCOS and endo! I know how disheartening it can be but try not to think of it as being all your responsibility!

MrsTanna1 · 04/10/2018 15:13

@craftycanary yes agreed...just need to try and not stress either as thats probably not helping either!!

OP posts:
craftycanary · 04/10/2018 15:16

@MrsTanna1 definitely - although the most annoying thing people will say to you is "just try to relax" haha!

MrsTanna1 · 04/10/2018 15:21

@craftycanary haha i know! do they think we like being stressed lol.

Interested to hear different journeys! I need some positivity and inspiration xx

Seems like a few are working through PCOS... Have you seen the research on PCOS and various supplements, like CoQ10?

update- actually had an appointment at my docs who advised that my cysts should have actually been operated on. Have another scan tommorow then will take it from there.

Also AF appeared today so nothing this month :( :(. feeling absolutely broken to be honest.
