EWCM but -ve OPK?

Hi all, hoping someone can reassure me or shed some light?
I am predicted to ovulate today, and have had lots of EWCM (yesterday there was a small amount, today lots more) but when I POAS on the OPK, it was negative. Could my body be preparing to ovulate and therefore I may get the lh surge tomorrow? Or is it possible to get EWCM on an annovulatory cycle?

Anyone? More EWCM today and still opks are negative

In my experience ewcm is not a very reliable indicator of when you will ovulate - the cycle I conceived my ewcm had dried up several days before I ovulated (I know exactly when it was as we only dtd once that month as DH was away). So I’d go with the opks!

Thanks ladies. I'm on CD20 of a 32 day cycle, and another negative opk today. So confused.

What brand opks are you using? I've been getting negatives (like, not even a faint line) with amazon cheapies (One-step), despite ewcm for days. Did a Boots cheapy yesterday and there was a definite line. Did the two again today and the ic finally had a very faint line, the Boots one was close to the control.

@MauisLeftNipple hmm, that's interesting.... I've been using the IC one step ones too, but also the clear blue digital ovulation test where the smiley face comes up? Both negative 👎🏻

I have had two days of ewcm and flashing smile face meaning high fertility so will see when I get peak fertility.

@Mamabear12 thank you! I only bought the one that shows you the 2 peak days, and now I have run out of sticks
