Help... anyone else had a false positive from frer?

So I took a frer test at 11dpo in the afternoon and it came back with a v v v faint positive but the line although very faint was instantly there... since then I've taken numerous other tests none frer tho as I only had one of those and all the other test have been BFN

Anyone have a false positive from a frer before? I'm 13dpo today and another BFN on an Asda test.

Here it is... it's definitely a squinter but I could see it I put a light behind it so my OH could see it in the photo lol
And the line is still there now x

If you can only see it with a light behind, it's likely to be an indent (where the dye would settle if it were a positive). I'm afraid to say that I can't see anything... but I rarely do unless it's super obvious...

I can see it without the light I seen it as soon as I took the test, It's just capturing it on a photo that's difficult.

I am beginning to question if I am just going mad lol x

I think as your pee goes through the stick you see the second line briefly as the urine makes it way through. It does that when you are not pregnant. As I’ve seen it every time. If there is no line after then not pregnant. However, if you are not sure wait a few days and test again with first response.

That's the thing I've got the test and the lines still there... I was shocked because I never normally get positives until after AF due. Just think I'm giving myself false hopes now... feel like I should just know if I'm pregnant or not as I've been pregnant 4 times already! Last two were ectopic.. think I need to just give myself a break and stop even testing and just wait and see. My partner tells me off for doing it to myself every month 😳

I did actually have a false positive from a frer last month. I've had many indents but this was an actual line that showed up in the timescale stayed visible for at least 20minutes but disappeared after an hour. You can imagine my disappointment when I went back for a quick peek at it and the line had vanished. Second test with the same urine sample was bfn. (as was every other I did til AF showed up)

All I can think was dodgy test or I flooded it, which I didn't know was a thing with frer.

Hi Op, yeah I had the same last month, I was totally devastated.

@EverythingNow even the other line looks funny in that one doesn't it 😳 how disheartening.

Sorry to hear this -I have had bad experiences with false positive faint lines on FRER-I’ve tried to tell myself to wait now and only use those clear blue digital once I’m really late! Hard tho! Good luck with it all!

Of course I was so excited to see a second line I didn't notice until after it had gone and I looked back at the pictures.

The do have horrible indents that can be picked up in photos too. Often they're visible before you even pee on them!

I had this line on frer I think I was 12dpo. I had started bleeding lightly 10dpo and desperately hoped it was implantation bleeding.

All other tests ( including other frer ones ) were negative.

It gave me false hope sadly this month and I was still taking pregnancy tests a few days after af just in case there was a stronger line.

Nope nothing else xx

I'm wondering if all you ladies had tests with the same batch numbers? Could be a faulty batch that may need reporting

This is mine today. I could be anything from maybe 7 to 10dpo so still very early but came up within time and still there. Also not fmu just an afternoon pee.

So I had some of the amazon one step cheapies delivered today ones I ordered days ago.. and 2 have come back with faint positives, I took one earlier then one just now again to check... 🤞🏻 now I'm even more confused but hopefully this is a good sign and the other tests just weren't sensitive enough?

@Soberfutures I'm so confused last night I had positive this morning negative, I even got my partner to double check I wasn't going mad... AF due tomorrow so I'm 14dpo today.

Unfortunately from my experience, FRERs are notoriously bad for showing a super super faint line. Especially when held up to the light. I think it's just the indent line. I've got my hopes up so many times seeing this. X

Looks like a negative for me this morning so confusing.

Yes @waiting4arainbow part of me is still hoping but the other side is telling me the first must have been an evap.

Gonna hold in all wee for a few hours and try again so there can be no doubt.

@Soberfutures No I've not tested with another frer yet, when I went to get some in Asda they had sold out so I'm going to wait and carry on with the one step strips and see if I get a line again then maybe by a first response once I've missed my period x
When are you due on?
I have read that some people's urine doesn't have a lot of hormone in first thing if they drink a lot the night before. 🤷🏼‍♀️ not sure how true that is.. I literally read almost every possibility on google this weekend x

I do tend to drink thru the night. So I can hope that is the reason. And yesterday's was about 5pm. Tho my wee did look dark when I tested this morning. God it's annoying. I think I'm only due on in 4+ days as my cycle has been crazy and I had 3 different positive opk this month.
