Pregnancy test reliability 14dpo?

I'm now 14dpo, I did one of those cheap Asda tests at lunchtime it was bfn. No sign of af at all yet. Is there still a chance? Should I have done it in the morning, are Asda tests reliable??

I used an Asda cheapie and didn’t get a positive test till 4 days after my missed period. I’ve always found first response the best 💞

iris81 · 28/09/2018 14:24

Thanks for the reply @BakingBabyV I wonder what the difference is between them, that's really bad!
I might try again in the morning then if it's the same go buy a first response 😊

It’s so bad! I wish you just either came on early if you weren’t pregnant or all pregnancy tests were the same! So hard. Good luck 😘

iris81 · 28/09/2018 15:29

@MeghanV07 thank you 😊 I know it's so frustrating isn't it!

Have a look on the leaflet and see what sensitivity they are.
I picked some up from Boots, read the leaflet and they say to use one day after your missed period so not very sensitive at all, I was quite surprised!

iris81 · 28/09/2018 21:05

Ah @Blondemother will check thanks x

It's so hard when they say early detection you think it's going to be way before AF but sometimes it's not till the day of or after 😩. Xxx

You might find this website useful to give you an idea of accuracy of pregnancy tests by dpo www.countdowntopregnancy.com/pregnancy-test/

MeghanV07 · 29/09/2018 09:24

That is very helpful! Thank you!

I unfortunately had a miscarriage at the beginning of September so I'm currently testing like crazy hoping I get a BFP soon xxx

iris81 · 29/09/2018 09:51

That is useful thanks!
Just been in Tesco but loads of clear blue ones. Where's best to find fr? Xx

OP posts:
MeghanV07 · 29/09/2018 10:01

@iris81 I always find them in Morrisons or Superdrug xx

Yakadee · 29/09/2018 10:04

I got some in boots x

iris81 · 29/09/2018 10:07

Thanks @MeghanV07 don't you feel like everyone's looking at you buying them, I feel weirdly self conscious haha xx

OP posts:
iris81 · 29/09/2018 10:11

Thanks @Yakadee too. I'm in an area I'm not familiar with looking for football pitches too! I'm feeling nauseous today!

OP posts:
Yakadee · 29/09/2018 10:29

@iris81 - could always Google boots or superdrug etc see if they're near by (if you have a phone).

I know what you mean about feeling self conscious, I was the same buying protection, OPK'S and prego tests lol. X

LatteLover12 · 29/09/2018 18:02

Oh my god @strawberrye that website is amazing (and probably addictive) 😂

MeghanV07 · 30/09/2018 11:25

Have you tested again @iris81? Xxx

iris81 · 30/09/2018 11:30

@MeghanV07 I tested yesterday afternoon with a clear blue early detection. Bfn! No af today? On another thread it was suggested I may have ovulated late so that could be why no af or bfp yet?

OP posts:
Breannabruce · 30/09/2018 17:10

I’m in the same boat @iris81, still no AF and still BFN! Going to doctors tomorrow to see what’s going on, it’s frustrating x

iris81 · 01/10/2018 08:24

I think I see a feint line, could be my eyes though. Brown blood this am when wiping. Still don't know either way ffs 🙄

I'm sorry @iris81 I can't see anything. I do find clear blue so rubbish though & you're not out till AF arrives!

I'm driving myself CRAZY today. Have done two FRER & 1 cheapie from eBay and all negative.

Why is TTC so hard 😔 xxx

mintich · 01/10/2018 17:15

I got a positive from clearblue digital 5 days before my missed period so perhaps try that?

iris81 · 01/10/2018 20:10

Thanks @mintich If I need to test again will try one of those!

@MeghanV07 aww I'm sorry, it is awful isn't it! I really hope you have good news and it's a bfp soon!
I think I'll know tomorrow whether af is properly here. I'll be relieved in a way so I'll know where I'm up to! Xx

OP posts:
MeghanV07 · 02/10/2018 08:13

Thanks @iris81, I've decided to throw all my tests away. I'm driving myself mad and it's not doing anything for my mental health 🤦🏽‍♀️.

How are you feeling today? Xxx

iris81 · 02/10/2018 11:20

That's how I felt @MeghanV07 it's all consuming isnt it.
Well af has arrived properly this morning. I'm absolutely fine though and just feel relieved I know for sure now. I'll track my dates much better on my diary now for next month! Xx
