I can see the benefits in waiting to test and I generally didn’t test except for this last cycle where I could feel something was different. And I’m a nervous wreck about my BFP, but I’m also glad that I know. It means that I can alter my behaviour and stop taking meds that could be potentially harmful.

If I didn’t drink alcohol or caffeine, didn’t have any medical conditions, etc., then I would have waited longer to test.

EssJayyCee · 30/09/2018 16:10

@crossfitgirl i am only worrying so early because I've always had irregular cycles and always thought deep down that I was unable to have kids. Now it's coming to TTC and being unsuccessful it feels like my body is just confirming my thoughts! I went to the doctors about my irregular cycles and without testing for anything their immediate response was to put me on the pill. Which just masks the issue if there is one. so I'm still none-the-wiser!
I'm not going to do any pg tests anymore. I'm going to get some OPK's do my thing and just wait it out. I need to be strong for myself so I don't end up driving myself crazy. Which I have managed to do this month!

I've been looking at OPKs on eBay.. is 50 for £5.45 A good price?

Crossfitgirl · 30/09/2018 16:45

@EssJayyCee yeah that's a good price! I get the one step ones from Amazon it's about £5 for 30, but I have prime so it's dead easy!
Totally get you with that, I have PCOS and was put on the pill for years and years to regulate me. However, after coming off the pill in Feb, I have been regular! so I've just thought I'll see what happens, might not have any problems after all. I also know it can take a year even if youre healthy, and its taken 6+ months for most of my friends so ive tried to stay as realistic as possible and try not to get too down or worried.
I am, however, going to the docs tomorrow just to see if they will check my hormone levels.
We've only been trying since may, (condoms til then) but I'm going to say we started trying in Jan or Feb I think. I just want to check that it's not a pointless exercise moving forward or if there is something up they can do something now to optimise my chances.

Have you thought about going to docs about irregular periods?

Crossfitgirl · 30/09/2018 17:01

@essjayycee I mean now that you're ttc xx

EssJayyCee · 30/09/2018 17:18

@crossfitgirl I will get some then!
That's good that your cycles regulated after being on the pill! Maybe mine have too and I just have a longer cycle than most. I can't really tell as like I say this is only my second cycle since being being off the pill! Maybe 45 days is my regular cycle length. In which case, according to my fitbit I am just in my fertile window!
calls DP Grin haha.

Oh, can you do that?
I've always wondered if you can request blood tests for things like fertility or

No I haven't really thought about it.. I'll Keep going as I am for 6 cycles and see what my cycle is like before going back to the doctors.

I am really reluctant to go to the doctors because they never seem to want to help me.
I rarely go to the doctors but for the last 8-10 months I've been getting alot of water infections that i can't get rid of on ny own and they don't like giving anti biotics for them. In July I got one and left it trying to fix it myself it got worse and worse went to the doctors in early august and he told me to just t ake ibuprofen so I did... I read online you shouldn't take ibuprofen because it makes it worse. Low and behhold it got worse and went back a week later and was finally given antibiotics. and it cleared up. Now it's back again.

I just seem to have problem after problem. I'm sure I'm just broken!

Sorry for rambling! I obviously needed to get it out of my system!

mrsof20118 · 30/09/2018 17:32

Thanks @crossfitgirl. Couldn't test as said too early and wouldn't give a clear answer at this point.
Bleeding has settled a bit today and more brown hardly any red. I'm still expecting the worst but treating my body as if I am until I know things are back to normal too. Long wait until sat ish to test to check it's a negative. Resisting the urge to order some cheapies from Prime! X

MrsR16 · 30/09/2018 17:57

Ladies, I'm super confused now. I started spotting this morning at 12 dpo. Am I clutching at straws and could this be IB or is this AF on her way 3 days early?

Delilah7 · 30/09/2018 18:00

@MrsR16 could be in with a shot hun, keep positive ❤️ x x

Teachermummy83 · 30/09/2018 18:18

Thanks @CrossFitgirl. Been trying for about 18 months but had to miss quite a few cycles due to being on other medication, hubby having an operation and also actively avoiding landing in the ‘too pregnant to fly’ time for our trip to Oz next weekend (the irony! 🙄) Feels like FOREVER though!!!!!
Sound more positive @Mrs20118 x
Fingers crossed for you @MrsR16 x

EssJayyCee · 30/09/2018 19:20

@mrsR16 Fingers crossed it's a good sign! Keep us updated! X

MrsR16 · 30/09/2018 19:33

@Delilah7 @Teachermummy83 @EssJayyCee aw thanks ladies! I will try and keep positive! I'll leave it till AF is late I think and then retest and see what happens! Xx

KatBeCool · 30/09/2018 19:37

@FlapJackered how are you doing?

cupcakesandglitter · 30/09/2018 20:55

Ladies I'm so confused 😩 did an OPK an hour ago and it's positive? I've attached the pic below... honestly don't know what to think 😭

TTC FIRST BABY THREAD NO.5!
Delilah7 · 30/09/2018 20:59

@cupcakesandglitter have you taken a pregnancy test?? X

OP posts:
Delilah7 · 30/09/2018 21:01

@cupcakesandglitter I really think you should. With that strong positive for an OPK could mean you know what x

OP posts:
ValidUser · 30/09/2018 21:03

@cupcakesandglitter DO IT!

SenoraSurf · 30/09/2018 21:04

@cupcakesandglitter doooooooo itttttttt! FX!

Delilah7 · 30/09/2018 21:05

@cupcakesandglitter they pick up nearly the hormone as the surge Hun if you're pregnant so it would show. You really need to test. I'm sureeeee you'd be pregnant xx

OP posts:
cupcakesandglitter · 30/09/2018 21:17

@Delilah7 @ValidUser @SenoraSurf I can't 😭 I'm far too scared :( also I've had some brown spotting today so I'm convinced AF is coming tomorrow 😭

Delilah7 · 30/09/2018 21:19

@cupcakesandglitter don't be babe. It could well say pregnant from what you're saying. Wait till the morning and do it then. Have faith darling. I know it's hard. You've had much more positive signs than I have and I'm shitting myself to do one hahaha xxxx

OP posts:
SenoraSurf · 30/09/2018 21:21

@cupcakesandglitter every symptom you're experiencing is pointing to the same thing, is it not best to know than to wonder? Fx so hard for you. Hopefully the previous bfn was too early.
Xoxox

KatBeCool · 30/09/2018 21:26

@cupcakesandglitter take the pregnancy test. That's a pretty strong result.

KatBeCool · 30/09/2018 21:30

@cupcakesandglitter On the other hand, I heard your body dumps the excess LH right before AF, which would cause the opk to be so high. But hopefully it's a bfp. Either way, I think you'll have your answer in a day or two. This test is a good sign.

cupcakesandglitter · 30/09/2018 21:32

@KatBeCool ive heard that too, so maybe it is just a big surge before AF...

I've just done a FRER, I thought I could see the faintest line in the world, but I've sat with DH and tried everything but we both think because I've seen so many I can almost imagine where the line should be if that makes sense? Not fmu of course but I wiped too and brown watery stuff on the paper so I think it's AF for me x

cupcakesandglitter · 30/09/2018 21:32

@Delilah7 @SenoraSurf I think if AF doesn't arrive tomorrow I might test on Tuesday morning x
