TTC and ovulation question

We’re ttc baby number 2, 2nd cycle and 2nd month of using Clear Blue Digital Ovulation test (purple one). This month I have also stated measuring bbt as well. 9 days of flashy annoying smiley faces (last month was 8) then finally a static smile on in day 9 afternoon (this Sunday). I tested as I was getting pains. DTD every other day on flashy smiley faces and on first and second day on static smiley faces, so Sunday and Monday as directed by CB. However my temp has only gone up on Thursday. As we last DTD on Monday, have we possibly missed the boat this month? I know only time will tell but should we have kept going until temp rise?

I had this last month too. Read the internet, as usual, and it seems bbt doesn't always go up directly after ovulation. I thought I ovulated on a Thursday based on bbt, where my peak ovulation face was Monday/Tuesday. In the end, AF came on a Monday two weeks later, so suspect I ovulated Tuesday/Wednesday after all.

You can ovulate up to 72 hours after the smiley, so it could have been as late as Wednesday for you. Check out SMEP - when you see the static you dtd for I think 3 days in a row, skip a day then go one more time for luck!

Thank you both. Can I just ask what day you would class as day 1 DPO? Would it be day 2 of static smiley (Monday) or would it be the day my temperature rose (Thursday)?

@Tobebythesea It's a bit of an estimate in any case. I estimated two days after the static smiley, which in turn was two days before my big spike. If right, I had a 12 day Luteal phase, which is about normal I think.
