I got the blood form from the doctor to check for projesterone as I want to check I'm ovulating think she said it needs to be done 7 days before the next period, had a period at the beginning of the month and no idea when my next one will be.

That’s right, it’s 7 days before your period is due. So for people with a 28 day cycle you have the test on day 21. If your cycle is 30 days you’d have it on day 23 etc.

How long is your cycle normally?

I'm no expert but I've had this test done and I have irregular cycles. I used OPKs and once I got a positive one, I booked the blood test for 7dpo.
Hope that helps

@MonkeyToucher this month 25 days as I think another period is starting last month was 22 days.

@Eminen when did you start using the opks? What were your results if you don't mind me asking?

@Lauraliverpool I started using them from about cd11. My cycles vary from 28-35 days sometimes even longer. I was using OPK for a good few days before I got a positive one. My results came back normal which suggests I am ovulating. I've now stopped using OPKs as I find them too stressful but they were very helpful when I needed that blood test done!

@Emimen I was thinking about starting up using my clear blue monitor again to hopefully give me an idea but then I'm thinking even if I got a high or peak it may not necessarily mean the ovulation has taken place. Good news your test came back to say you are ovulating. After my 2nd miscarriage in June and when we decided to try again I said I didn't want to use the monitor again but even if it just gives me an idea. Xx
