Do you test early?

Interested to know how many of us test before the TWW is up.

Ovia says I should test today, based on thinking AF will come tomorrow. However I think it should probably come Wednesday/Thursday because of when I think I ovulated. That would make me 10dpo.

I don't have symptoms as such. Feel a bit queasy today but had a bad cold last week so suspect I'm still getting over that. However I'm not someone who gets severe symptoms of PMS either so not sure I would either way.

When do you guys test during the TWW?

Usually day of or Day after period due, but this month I had an urge to test at 10dpo. Don’t know if it was instinct or not but I got my bfp.

I think it depends on what would upset you most - seeing a bfn or getting your period.

I have been TCC for 14 months and the amount of tests I had used 6 days before period and then 2 days before and then if I was a couple of days late etc and still came on period it was more disheartening!

I've learnt to just wait now. Wait for my period to come as it always seems to anyway! If ever it comes to a week over that's when I'd take one. I find it far too draining taking a test before :( x

Flappergirl86 · 23/09/2018 15:05

Oh yeah. Ive wasted so so so much money on tests. It's so disappointing when they're all negative as well. I'll test every day from 7dpo until my period invariably arrives. I don't know why I do it to myself cos it just hurts but it's a full on addiction. I'm not this mad in other areas of my life but trying to conceive does something to me!

RMarieClaire · 23/09/2018 15:42

@GoneForFood congratulations!

I think that's exactly it. Either will be painful to be honest. Hard to say...

@GWat06 @Flappergirl86
They are so pricey and even if you expect a negative, hard not to let your hopes get raised. I bought a test but I've decided not to use it till Tuesday or Wednesday morning. I know it'll be calling to me till then though!

I used to test early but after a few chemical pregnancies I don't be testing early now. I'll wait till AF is certainly late to help try and avoid that pain.

FlapJackered · 23/09/2018 16:52

@RMarieClaire I am 10dpo today too! And also due Wednesday. I am planning on trying to hold out to test until Thursday if AF doesn't arrive, however I almost failed this morning, I got the first response out of the cupboard, put it back in, got it out again and put it back in again. 🙈

GWat06 · 23/09/2018 17:45

@FlapJackered aw bless you! My cycles can sometimes be a bit longer; I've been 5 days late before and really thought it'd happened but nope it came! I feel mega bloated and emotional but it's a typical period symptom too so it just messes with my mind! The joys!

RMarieClaire · 23/09/2018 18:09

@FlapJackered ah, cycle twins)"! FX to us both. Let's hold out together 😳

@GWat06 my cycle is around 35 days at the moment. Kind of resent the fact that means I get one l as shot in a year - but best not to think like that or I'll go mad!

Sorry to hear that @TwittleBee - god that must be so hard. I hadn't realised it was a thing until I read about it here. I'm definitely going to hold on and just try really hard not to get my hopes up.

GWat06 · 23/09/2018 18:11

@RMarieClaire you get what shot sorry? 1 shot to fall pregnant in a year because you have a 35 day cycle? X

RMarieClaire · 23/09/2018 18:24

@GWat06 sorry I worded that badly, basically, those of us with long cycles have fewer cycles in a year than people with short cycles. I get like 10.5 cycles a year to try conceive, if I was on a 28 day cycle I'd get 13.

However it's not that simple at all I know. This is how crazy the TWW makes me!

OP posts:
GWat06 · 23/09/2018 18:28

@RMarieClaire I must be the same then! My average cycle is 34 days.. when we first started I was 28 days and it's just creeped up. One month it was 36 day!

It's crazy! I am so scared, they've tried to do a blood test so many times to check my progesterone to see if I'm ovulating but because sometimes I can be later than usually they don't time it right!

RMarieClaire · 23/09/2018 20:45

Sigh. Spotting so assume AF will come tomorrow. Oh well, at least I saved myself a tenner.

@RMarieClaire urgh big sigh. :( so frustrating, keep me posted anyway x
