Struggles after coil

So I had my coil in for roughly a year and decided to try for another dumpling, so had it removed on May 4th and had slight spotting on a tissue 2 days after , so not a real period. I have had absolutely nothing since. I know I'm not pregnant as I've been doing tests monthly. The Drs have said to wait till it's been 6 months but is this normal. I just want a period to let me know it's all working... Has anyone encountered this? What happened for you? If you also had to wait what did the Drs do to help?

No help but a bump for you because I'm interested as well. I had my coil removed in July and I've only had spotting for the past three months where I should have had a period. This month it's been slightly heavier but not how they used to be (although I haven't had a period for 7 years so it's hard to remember).

Do you know if you're ovulating? I read that in the first year of having the coil some women stop ovulating but then your cycle sorts itself out and gets back to normal.

Are you guys talking about the mirena or the copper coil? I had mine removed also three cycles ago. My cycy have been fairly normal two have been lighter, one heavier. The PMT symptoms have been way worse though. And no bany! (Although I do ovulate).

KinCat · 24/09/2018 10:11

I'm talking about mirena and assumed op was because I didn't think the copper coil made your periods go away. Were you using mirena?

seanna · 24/09/2018 10:38

The surprise is that the copper coil (which is the one I had) does mess up with your cycle. Which came as a surprise as I thought it would be business as usual after removing it.

Oh weird, I never knew that! I think it really varies person to person tbf.

MummyAlltam · 26/09/2018 20:14

I'm not sure if I'm ovulating. I've been told that periods start really light so that must be your spotting. Might have to bulk buy some tests to track it and see...

I had my mirena out 2 weeks ago and have been bleeding ever since! It was horrendously heavy to start with but now has slowed. Fingers crossed everyone's cycles regulate quickly so we can get out BFP's! Xx

Bloodylegoeverywhere · 26/09/2018 20:26

I've had my mirena coil out a year now. I had the pill for 3 months straight after and then nothing but over the last 9 months my cycles have been very short, slightly irregular and short light periods. Not sure if my lining isn't very thick but have just hit 40 so could be many things. Very annoying!

KinCat · 27/09/2018 03:50

MummyAlltam I've found it really interesting to track my BBT and see what my cycles doing so you could consider that.

I seem to ovulate but have very light periods, short cycles and my luteal phase varies a bit (sounds the same as you Bloodylegoeverywhere).

Hopefully all our cycles settle down soon.

Bloodylegoeverywhere · 27/09/2018 10:04

@kinkat phew glad I'm not the only one. Hormones and periods eh! Nurse said as long as I have a period which is good except this month it lasted a day then left but have been spotting for three days now. Blinking thing!! 🙄🤔

KinCat · 27/09/2018 10:22

Yeah and I'm sure there was someone else on another thread who said the same re short cycles, light periods etc. so hopefully it's just normal adjustment.

I thought mine had finished after two days of light red bleeding this month but now I'm spotting again and I was spotting for a few days before as well. Good job I bought loads of black pants...
