Hi, this is my first month trying ovulation tests and I tested yesterday after starting my period last Thursday and finishing yesterday (so tested on CD6) and the test line was so dark it was almost positive. Took another today and it’s much much lighter. Surely I haven’t ovulated already, as it’s so early in my cycle?? Can the tests fluctuate like this before going positive, or can a period make the test go positive even though you’re not ovulating?

I should add, this was my first period after a miscarriage, I took some pregnancy tests after the miscarriage and these showed as negative about three weeks ago. Could the miscarriage still be affecting the ovulation tests? Miscarriage was about 6 weeks ago.

I’m sorry about your miscarriage MeredithGrey1 Flowers

I’m not an expert, but I think your hormones can be all out of whack following a loss so it might take a few weeks for your cycle to regulate. LH can fluctuate throughout the month anyway, so maybe the ‘almost positive’ result was just a normal fluctuation and you’ll catch the surge and get a full positive later in the month.
