BBT question (I don't chart)

Hi,
So I don't track my BBT, my shift pattern is too hectic to make it work at the moment, but I'm after some advice from those of you who do. I'm feeling really tired and achy and a little sniffly today so I checked my temperature this evening to see if I am coming down with something. It was 38.1 degrees. Now I know this is high, but my question for those of you who regularly chart your BBT does yours ever get this high post ovulation? I'm 7dpo. Or is this high even by post ovulation standards? (I know everyone is different) but anyone had a 38ish?) Just trying to work out if I'm poorly or just Hot!
Thanks in advance!

No, post ov for me is usually 36.6-36.8.

Thanks @teacherspets guessing I've probably got a temperature then! Damn x

Taking your temp if you haven’t been asleep for at least 3 hrs means it won’t be a BBT so that could be a reason it was higher. Your BBT first thing in the morning is usually lower than during the daytime which is why it is important to do it as soon as you wake up and before you do anything else.

@daisypod i didn't want to know my BBT I wanted to know my regular nothing to do with conception temperature to see if I am unwell. 38 is a pretty high temp so I guess I am. But having recently learned from you lovely lot that your temperature rises after ovulation I was just curious how high and if this was a factor. But I guess I'm just poorly!

This happened to me a few cycles back - turned out I had a sinus infection 😢

I’m a shift worker and someone posted this link before - it adjusts your temp for you if you have a irregular sleeping pattern.
