TTC... AF 2 DAYS LATE! NO SYMPTOMS OF PREGNANCY

Hello, me and my partner have been ttc for a year after coming off contraception 2 years ago. Now I'm confused because AF was due on 14/09/18 but I'm nearly 2 days late. All I have had is cramps 2 days before AF was due. Can anyone help me with this please?

Have you poas? It's common to get cramps at the same time you would have had your period if you are pregnant. If you haven't yet, I would definitely take a pregnancy test.

No I havent poas yet, I've been told to wait for a few more days until I do test? Is it even possible for me to be pregnant?

Unfortunately the only thing that can tell you for sure is a test.

I had cramps around the time af would have been due (and for several weeks after).

Good luck xx

Okay, the NHS have taken all bloods recently? Would that pick it up or not?

And thank you I'm really hoping I am. Xx

It'll depend. I think it can be too early to be picked up sometimes. Are you going to test? X

Jemzy · 15/09/2018 21:37

I think I'm going to wait until Tuesday and if still nothing then I will test but thank you for your help xx

Good luck. Hope you get a bfp.

I'm 2 days late and tested earlier in the week as I had a job offer and wanted to know. It was bfn and I've tested this morning with a frer and bfn again. Feeling slightly nauseous and getting a bit of heartburn.
I usually get enlarged, tender breasts before af as well and thats not happened this month yet so no idea. Feeling very in limbo which is frustrating.

Our dd has just started school but due to relationship problems we held off ttc #2 until 7 months ago as I knew we needed to rebuild our relationship before setting off on the stress of another child.

Why are you waiting? Do a test now! Any test will pick up 2 days post missed period. Many pick up a few days before.

Hideandgo · 16/09/2018 08:26

There is absolutely no need to wait to test. If you’re late and you are pregnant it will show up.

TheVanguardSix · 16/09/2018 08:29

Get a First Response and test now. No need to wait! But seriously, First Response is THE definitive test you want. It’s totally reliable.

There's no guarantee that you will get a bfp at 2 days late even if you are pg. It all depends on when you ovulate and how quickly your levels are rising. We all know that cycle lengths can vary, so 2 days late can just mean longer cycles.
I've read numerous accounts of people who didn't get a bfp until a week late. If you can hold off testing without it tearing you apart then I'd be all for it. At least it gives time for your levels to rise so if you are pg, you'll get that bfp, instead of the let down of it being bfn.

The bloods the doctor took will only detect pregnancy if they were specifically testing for hcg and only if you had already had implantation. So highly unlikely based on the info given as it doesn't seem like that's what they were testing for?

Jemzy · 16/09/2018 13:07

The reason I haven't tested yet is because i know there is not always a guarantee that its down to being pregnant? I know that you can ovulate later in the cycle and then that delays your period, this is why I am waiting until Tuesday until I do a test. Thanks for everyone's views though they are appreciated
