DP wants to wait to start trying!

We own our own home, have decent jobs and income etc. I’m 32 now and would love to start trying but he wants to wait until this time next year after we get married.

I know rationality that a year won’t make a difference to my fertility. He did say I can have a fertility MOT and if that the results aren’t great we can start trying sooner.

Anybody else in this position?

What difference will being married make
Why wait?Is he religious,is it cultural?
Frankly I’d want to crack on,but he obvs needs to agree so unless he changes mind you’ll need to wait

Will you mind being pregnant/ having a small baby for wedding/honeymoon? Obviously fertility is more important, just wondering

Wait until after the wedding. In the meantime, read up on the endless posts from people who have the baby before the wedding, and how they become trapped or shafted.

If you’re suggesting marriage is a protective factor sadly no it is
It does however confer legal rights that cohabitation doesn’t
But no being married doesn’t guarantee happiness swift perusal of mn will demonstrate that

I think he's being very sensible.

Your fertility could change in that time. Sadly, it's all downhill after 25. Faster after 30. Faster still after 35. All averages of course, so you'll always hear stories of women who get pregnant easily well into their 40s, but a quick look at the conception boards on here will tell you that's not the case for many, many women.
