Hi to all,

My friend had suspitions of pg today as her af is 3 days late. So i told her i would buy the tests for her and she can take them at my house. So this afternoon she took on (cb) and it came up with a very very thin pale blue line that was more to the left than in the center?

With mine they were fairly thick just very very very faint, until my BFP !!!

She took the other one about 2 hours later and it was the same, is this a positive or do they need to be thicker? Has anyone else had this and what was the outcome? She is shitting herself as this is not a planned pg and to be honest I think its quite unwanted to! Any comments appreciated xxxxxxx

My experience of CB was that it turned into a big fat clear + immediately (and I mean after about 5 secs) but this was about 6 days over.

I agree with all the posts that she should see a GP or fam planning clinic re STDs/ preg options. But if she is still dragging her feet about going she could try using the very first pee of the day (after longest sleep - so if she gets up in the night she should use this.) This may well mean collecting it but it will have a greater concentration of HGC so is more likely to give a clear result. Also as days go by the lines should get clearer if she is PG.

I am sure you will find a way and in all honesty you are being a caring friend so don't be concerned about approaching her just let her know that you will be there to help her through this and get her to regroup and focus on her health rather than the possible/probable pregnancy

The article on peeonastick.com helped alot....

I'm sure all will be fine its just a little bit awkward, thanks for all your help everyone xxxxxxx

i can see two lines...where is the one that denotes a positive..the one on the right or left of the pic?

xxkiexx · 09/06/2007 14:16

its on the left of the circle window, its a very bad pic, trying to get another but my phone wont connect

OP posts:
xxkiexx · 09/06/2007 14:19

its going vertically in the circle window its a +/- test

OP posts:
xxkiexx · 09/06/2007 14:23

ok got a much more clearer one, take a look

OP posts:
lulumama · 09/06/2007 14:23

incredibly faint line .... a line is a line, whether faint or not, as long as it comes up within the specified time

xxkiexx · 09/06/2007 14:24

well yeah it was there within around 2-3 minutes, the only difference is now is that the line is sharp rather than fuzzy as the test has dried!

OP posts:
lulumama · 09/06/2007 14:25

i think she is pregnant

xxkiexx · 09/06/2007 14:26

just as i thought especially if there are 2 the same!!

your friend needs to get her head straight and make some decisions, putting it off will not make this go away and will make things worse

good for you for supporting her

xxkiexx · 09/06/2007 14:28

lol

it would be lovely if she decided she would like to keep it as her baby and mine could be close friends like us, but if im totally totally honest i really dont think that is going to happen

OP posts:
lulumama · 09/06/2007 14:47

well, it is a massive step for her, and either way she is going to live with the consequences....if she is not ready, has no partner, and still lives with her parents, it will certainly impact her decision....

xxkiexx · 09/06/2007 14:52

yes your right, I could shake her for not being more careful, I think it may have been a drunken one night stand but i dont want to ask.....

doesn't help that my hormones are all over the place, think im gonna start laughing/crying/fuming/shouting in a minute

lulumama · 09/06/2007 14:56

bless you !!

she has made a mistake

and now she has to sort out what to do

she isn;t the first, and won;t be the last, all you can do is give her the unequivocal support you have been

xxkiexx · 10/06/2007 02:09

BUMP

ok this is nothing to do with the original post, but can someone help me please, i think im abnormal...

i know the main symptoms of being pregnant are sickness tender boobs and tiredness but mine are going alot further than that and it worrying me that something isnt right

I had sickness for about 3 days and now it comes in tiny waves

I am really really tired during the day and come bedtime im wide awake!

my boobs have doubled in size and on closer inspection the veins stand out loads (looks horrible)

i am getting heartburn quite alot

my ankles are swollen and i cant stand for very long

my jeans are getting tight

I get a feeling in my throat that i have a nose bleed, you know when you sniff back and you can taste blood (yuk!)

and last but not least which is the worst of all (sorry if tmi) I have had 3 bouts of discharge that isnt smelly or look like cottage cheese, but you could literally hang wallpaper with it! again really sorry for tmi!!!

I know these can be symptoms of pregnancy but surely not this early!!!

OP posts:
smallone · 11/06/2007 15:10

Yep I'm pretty sure you're normal!

how far along are you?

My boobs were hurting before I knew I was pg.
I was asleep all the time from the moment of conception! I didn't know what was wrong with me!
I had morning sickness from about 6 wks.

It didn't happen to me but the tasting blood might be the metallic taste some women get coz their tastebuds go mad.

and as for discharge, I'm fairly sure it'll come any way it pleases until you give birth!

None of your symptoms sound like a sign of a problem although they might be more than expected. could you be further along than you thought? have you had a scan yet?

what do you think could be wrong?

Sorry if this isn't much help and if you're worried you could always go to your gp or ring your midwife?

any news on your friend?

xxkiexx · 11/06/2007 17:06

I had coil removed on the 28th march, but dont think i could be much further along...

think im around the 5-6 week mark!

I haven't heard from my friend today I text her but heard nothing back, hope shes ok!!

Things are a bit difficult at the moment as along with my general feeling shittyness dd2 hascome down with chicken pox, so that makes it 3 kids 3 weeks a hell of a lot of spots!!

OP posts:
smallone · 12/06/2007 20:03

Sounds about right for the symptoms to be kicking in then. But go to your GP if you're worried, the swollen ankles may be blood pressure?

Massive sympathy about the pox! Calamine cream is supposed to be loads better than the lotion. Good Luck

xxkiexx · 12/06/2007 20:32

I didnt know they did a cream!! the lotion has made a right mess!!!! lol
