When to see the GP late period

I am almost a week late with negative test also. When should I see the gp? There is no other reason for being this late that I can think of.
Thank you

I I've never seen the GP for a late period. Is that a thing people do?

Fightthebear · 12/09/2018 15:14

Personally I’d wait a month or so. Periods can be late for lots of reasons.

Littlemisssunshine86 · 12/09/2018 15:16

I just wasn't sure if I should. Are negative tests ever wrong?

Well if you don’t know I dont know how your gp would know, you know?

Are you tracking your cycles?

CountessVonBoobs · 12/09/2018 15:18

A very small number of women, about 1% or less I think, don't excrete HCG into their urine or don't do so straightaway so urine tests don't work for them. However it's normal to skip periods occasionally and GPs generally are not interested until you've skipped 3. If lack of period is your only symptom I'd just wait another few weeks and keep doing tests. Odds are it will show up eventually, or there is a very small chance you are in fact pregnant and will eventually get a positive.

A few months ago my period was 14 days late. Called the GP and was advised to wait another 2 weeks before making an apt with them. x
