Hello everyone,

It’s my first time here, I’ve never really even looked at this sort of forum before, and until recently, I never even thought about having kids. So lots of big changes!

Anyway, my husband and I are ttc (this is probably the only acronym I know at the moment Grin) and this is our first month.

I have the Flo App which predicted today as O day so I dis a couple of ovulation strips and got a negative result.

We had unprotected sex last Thursday, Sunday and Monday, and on Sunday I was hit with what I assume is much stronger than usual ovulation pain and back ache which lasted the whole day and kept me awake at night - I usually get a few twinges and that’s it.

And today I went for a bikini wax and I’ve never had so much pain I was literally crawling up the bed. Any time she put pressure on my pelvis it was uncomfortable and the waxing. Oh. My. God. I usually have a high pain threshold and thought that around ovulation was supposed to be the best time to go but I was super sensitive.

Obviously I am going to be looking for signs in all the wrong places - somebody please talk me down!

Hi MrsRRC,
I'm brand new too... well I have been browsing (aka lurking!) the TTC/pregnancy forums for ages but this is my first time posting.
I'm not actively TTC yet, but have just come off contraception (non-hormonal IUD so no need to wait for anything to regulate itself).
As we're not in a rush I am going to try to just 'let nature take its course' but I'm already tracking etc. I just don't want to get obsessive about it (which I have a tendency to do), until we're 3 or 4 months in and nothings happened yet.
My husband is broodier than me but he doesn't want to "start trying" yet because we have a lot of work to do on our house, and we're both awaiting an annual bonus from work - but he seems to think that it would happen right away, despite me explaining to him that realistically it would take maybe up to a year or longer. But we'll see. It's tricky because until you give it a go you just don't know how long it'll take - could be immediate or could be difficult.
I'm quite nervous about the prospect of "trying" as nearly all of my pregnant/parent friends have not had an easy ride.. but trying to think positively.
Exciting times! :)
PS: I know hardly any acronyms yet, but enjoying learning them :)

Hi Josico58,

Wow 😮 you could have been telling me about myself then, even down to the broody husband! We’re nearing the end of our renovation work. Thankfully!

I completely understand your nerves - I am right there with you.

Agree about not getting too obsessed either, although now it’s all that’s on my mind. Ha ha.

Got my fingers crossed for you both. X
