Hey ladies,

I've ordered an ovusense monitor and I'm hoping it will be useful as I'm at my wits end with OPKs and irregular cycles! I have PCOS.

Have any of you used one/successfully got pregnant using one? Did you find you were ovulating earlier/later than you were predicting before using the ovusense?

Thanks Smile

I got pregnant the first month I used it after over a year of trying! I ovulated on cd33.

Rmad6716 · 07/09/2018 19:17

Omg awesome news! @SpadesOfGlory

Can't wait for it to arrive now!! 😆

I didn't have PCOS or anything, just really irregular cycles for no reason! Good luck with trying, I know how hard it gets sometimes

Frazzlerock · 10/09/2018 12:53

Hi @Rmad6716 I've literally just ordered mine. I'm trying very hard not to put all my hopes into this. I have PCOS. Difficulty conceiving my two older DC (previous marriage), plus two MC's, and then DP and I both caught mumps (no doubt it most probably screwed up his fertility).
2.5 years later and my cycles have decided to go awry since we started TTC again back in June (sods law). They have stretched from 35 days to 50+ days. And just today I started a period after only 12 days so I am also at my wits end with TTC naturally and took the plunge with Ovusense to find out what the hell is going on in there.

Frazzlerock · 10/09/2018 12:56

Really encouraging to hear your news @SpadesOfGlory Smile

CosilyRosily · 10/09/2018 13:50

I've recently bought one due to irregular cycles and it picked up ovulation on cd74 or thereabouts. I had suspected that I was having anovulatory cycles so it was a bit of a surprise, especially so far into a cycle! So it can only help imo.

SpadesOfGlory · 10/09/2018 18:29

@Frazzlerock I had a pelvic ultrasound which showed a dominant follicle on cd15 and the sonongrapher said I would probably ovulate in the next 4 or 5 days. At that point, my Ovusense broke for 10 days and I was devastated cause I really wanted to know what was happening. They sent me a new one and to my surprise my temp the next morning was the lowest it had ever been! Over the next day or two it started looking like it was going up, and I got the first properly positive OPK the next day...and that was it! We only dtd two days before and the day of ovulation. In the end I ovulated 2 weeks after the sonongrapher said I would, so my body just doesn't seem to do things at a normal pace Smile

SpadesOfGlory · 10/09/2018 18:30

I have no idea why my phone keeps adding an n in sonographer Blush

Frazzlerock · 11/09/2018 08:45

Oh wow, that is incredible! So, does the temp need to be low and then go high for ovulation?

I used to temp (but with a mouth thermometer) years ago when TTC my second DC, although my charts were so erratic because of PCOS that I gave up. I remember when the temp went higher than usual, that was supposedly when ovulation was occurring. But, like I said, PCOS gave me so many 'higher than usual' peaks throughout my 100+ day cycles, that I got frustrated with it. Now I'm wondering if i should have looked out for a dip in temp first?

My cycles seem to have lessened since then (thankfully) so I'm hoping that Ovusense will work for me, it is supposedly good for PCOS cycle tracking but I am trying not to expect miracles.

SpadesOfGlory · 11/09/2018 10:44

I think some women get a dip before ovulation. As you can see, my temps were pretty up and down at the start! Ovusense didn't pinpoint ovulation because of the missing data which was annoying, but it's obvious from the rise that i did. The purple was when I got my bfp

How has everyone found using the ovusense? I am considering buying one. I don't have psos or anything. My periods are relatively regular, give or take a day or two.. Is it a waste for me to buy one? However I am interested to know the exact day I ovulate

Kescilly · 18/09/2018 22:20

@Shaw86 I think someone was trying to sell an unused one recently. Have a look around at the threads in this forum if you decide to get one, you might get a deal!

Frazzlerock · 19/09/2018 11:23

Mines still not arrived yet. I'm getting soooo impatient!

Rmad6716 · 20/09/2018 08:31

I'm still waiting on mine too😞🙈

Frazzlerock · 20/09/2018 08:45

They said they were out of stock when I ordered it (apparently... I didn't see anything stating this on the website) , but my 'starter pack' will be arriving by Friday, and sensor is being dispatched this week. You ordered yours before me, so I imagine you'll get yours soon... It's frustrating isn't it

Rmad6716 · 21/09/2018 16:51

Just got an email today to say it's been despatched so hoping it may be tomorrow Grin. Although I've actually ovulated this month so I have my fingers crossed for the TWW! It's amazing how every month I have hope even though it's probably excitement over nothing 🙄🙈

OP posts:
Frazzlerock · 21/09/2018 17:23

I got an email today too. I've given up on hope tbh. PCOS has not been kind to me since we started TTC.
I think I've ovulated as I'm getting the usual metal mouth that lasts until AF. I hate it! And to think I used to think it meant pregnancy 😂😂

Marvel87 · 21/09/2018 20:21

I've taken the plunge and ordered it tonight, dispatched by the 24th, I'm really quite interested to see what it comes up with. I've had a PCOS diagnosis since I was 19, 31 now, I want to start TTC, but interest to learn about my cycle too

Frazzlerock · 25/09/2018 09:22

Good luck with it @marvel87

Mine finally arrived on Saturday, so I used it Saturday night then Sunday my period decided to show its ugly face earlier than ever. I swear my body hates me. My cycles have been 40-50 day since we started TTC in June (before that they were normal, obviously). As soon as I start using Ovusense after waiting for EVER, I have a 25 day cycle. I fucking despair.

Rmad6716 · 28/09/2018 11:10

I've been using mine for three days now.

Temps between 36.55-36.54 at 6-8DPO so pretty level!

I wish I'd manually taken temp while waiting on my monitor then I would have known if he temp had went up after OV. Oh well!

OP posts:
Frazzlerock · 01/10/2018 10:17

Morning, I've been using mine for two days now. 36.32 (CD8) and 36.21 (CD9). I hope those are normal ranges so far....

Though mine fell out and into the loo this morning when I went for a wee! FYI - take the sensor OUT before your morning wee Grin

Frazzlerock · 01/10/2018 12:31

I've a question about Ovusense that I just thought of.

Does it tell you before you've ovulated or afterwards?
I've got some Preseed so I want to be ready to use it when the time comes (scuse the pun).

StopItAndTidyUpNow · 02/10/2018 15:14

I have been using it for 4 cycles - I keep using it after ovulation has been confirmed to keep track of my temperatures .

It predicts when you will ovulate based on your previous cycles but as that can change it will only tell you when you definitely ovulated after it sees the right algorithm for ovulation so it might tell you 2-3 days afterwards exactly when you did ovulate.

IT's recommended that you have sex every 2 days after your period as you are more fertile before ovulation than after and then once ovusense confirms your ovulation date you can compare that to when you had sex to see if you have a good chance of conceiving!

Frazzlerock · 08/10/2018 09:58

@Rmad6716 and @Marvel87 how are you getting on?

It seems Ovusense has picked up ovulation for me!

Man I hope it is right, I honestly though I wasn't ovulation at all.

OvuSense success ?
Marvel87 · 08/10/2018 13:39

@Frazzlerock Congrats! Hope you get a sticky bean! Mine arrived last week and for once my body likes me and I started AF the day after. Just waiting to finish AF and then get started. I'm excited to see what it can tell me, I'm not sure I ovulate at all, so will be good to take to the dr if not
