Giving blood when ttc?

Hi All!
I'm due to give blood on Thursday, I will be around 9DPO (I think, didn't track as much this month)
I've taken to Google and read some forums and people are saying even if there is a chance you could be pregnant then not to give blood as it will lower your iron levels etc which are all needed to help the pregnancy.
Obviously I don't want to jeopardise anything if I was possibly pregnant after 7 months of trying! But obviously I want to give blood as much as I can help.
Any help??

I don't know what the official rules would be but I have 2 thoughts on this - firstly they always check your iron level before you donate, so if it's too low they won't take it. Secondly at 9DPO I would be very surprised if there would be any negative impact on your blood, or on you and your chances..but if you don't feel comfortable donating and being unsure about maybe just skip it this time?

I’d give them a ring.

I donated this week and I’m sure I read something about ttc - but I think it was more about why women aren’t allowed to donate as much as men because of menstruation/ttc/pregnancy and their effects on iron levels.

The official guidelines are that you shouldn't donate if you are pregnant. However I donated before I found out I was pregnant (so I would've been 2 weeks at most) and I didn't feel any adverse effects at the time. I can't imagine at that stage it has any longterm affects on the pregnancy.

Thank you everyone. I will take a test on the morning (just in case 😂😂) And go along to the appointment. Will speak to them at the time. I had booked this appointment so long ago that I thought if I was to get pregnant it would have happened by now and I would definitely know whether to cancel or not. Just such an awkward time in my cycle

It's fine. I checked as would be 7dpo when donating. They said if I wasn't pregnant enough to get a positive it would be fine and your iron levels are checked pre donation. Also, giving blood when pregnant isn't dangerous for baby, it's just that you are more likely to faint or have low iron.

I did an IC 7dpo just to reassure me, and actually got a bfp! So cancelled.

Oh wow congrats @sandstormbrewing how lucky you were able to get an early BFP and thanks!
