Am I testing too early, or not pregnant?

Last year I was obsessively TTC and symptom spotting like a maniac and had a few situations where I convinced myself I was and wasn't - over a year has passed and DH and me decided a long time ago to just relax and let it happen.

My periods are really irregular with cycles ranging from 30ish days to some cycles up to about 80+ days, so I never know when my periods going to come until it starts at full force.

4 days ago I had some light pink blood when I wiped, a few hours later I had the same but it was slightly darker and then it was gone. I did suspect implantation bleeding but just put it to the back of my mind, the last 4 days I've also had a runny nose and scratchy throat (no other head cold symptoms) and sore breasts.

I did a test both yesterday and today, both negative. If these symptoms are pregnancy related, have I just tested too soon? Or would by this point the negative be a reliable one.

Thanks x

Hiya, I think implantation bleeding comes soon enough after ovulation that you would not get a positive test, so if it was implantation bleeding then you would need to wait three or four more days before testing.

Maybe wait until Saturday or Sunday to test?

It's unbearable isn't it, and extra frustrating with irregular cycles.

Good luck! I'll cross my fingers for you!

Implantation happens about 10 days after ovulation, and if you are pregnant you can test about 4 days after the implatation bleeding for an accurate result. So you could test about now ....good luck !

Oh sorry I read too fast! Might still be worth testing in a couple of days' time. Sounds like something was going on. Perhaps you were almost pregnant and then it didn't quite implant properly or something (I think a lot fail before the date of missed period).

Good luck next month if this isn't your month.

Have you looked into your cycles, why they're irregular and how to get them regular? I think sometimes the anxiety of it all is just the worst, so if you make your cycles regular (regulating your hormones) it'll make you a lot more relaxed in general and hopefully easier to concieve. I am weeeeell aware it's easier said than done, and trying to relax about having a baby is just BS, buuuut, trying to relax in general is a great idea and then come what may after?

@jackio2205 Gp wasn't much help with my irregular cycles, ran all tests and nothing came back out of the ordinary just said to give it time and go back once we hit the 12 month mark for help conceiving. We'd totally relaxed the last 8 months, we were all settled into our new house, I'd take a part time stress free job and not put any pressure on ttc, hence why this last week having these symptoms I thought it had finally happened. Not sure what more I can do to try and be regular so we just dtd every other day like troopers and hope for the best haha. Got an appointment in a few weeks to start looking into our options.

I had a miscarraige and wanted to get back regular asap so I researched into getting hormone levels back naturally, lots of vitamin supplements and change of diet can help, weight is also a factor. I won't prescribe anything as you have to do whats right for you, it helped me a lot and I then got pregnant three months after?
Just a thought anyway, but keep up doing what you're doing what you're doing if you're relaxed and happy! Xxxx
