Have I broken ovulation test holder?

First post, and first cycle using Clearblue Advanced ovulation sticks trying to conceive DC2. Really hoping someone else has done this and can reassure me I haven’t messed up my first attempt!

Second day of testing and I stupidly left the last test stick in the holder. I’m testing at 5am as that’s when I wake up needing a wee, so not exactly firing on all cylinders at this time of the morning, that’s my excuse anyway. I didn’t realise until I came back 24 hrs later to test again. I removed the test stick and got the blank circle (which was the same result as I’d had 24 hrs earlier) then tried to test again with a new stick. The testing symbol appeared but didn’t flash, and when I ejected it I got the test error symbol.

The leaflet says to test again in 4 hrs, but I’m worried leaving the previous test in for 24 hrs will have broken the holder. Is that possible? I’m gutted as I bought a pack for 2 months, they were really expensive and I’ve only used 3 sticks ☹️

Is it worth trying again later this morning or should I just cut my losses and swallow the cost of a new pack? I’m on day 8 of my cycle so would really need to buy a new pack today to make sure i’m testing on the right days.

I doubt you've broken it. Did you wait for the blank circle to disappear before you tested again? That might have screwed it up.

It's usually ok to leave the stick in the holder for a while though. I've tested many a time and then forgot to go back and check the result before the screen goes blank again. That's why the previous test result re-shows when you eject the stick, so you know what the result was.

Thank you, I tested again 4 hours later and it seems to have worked. I think I was so flustered after I thought i’d broken the holder that I messed up the test and didn’t insert the stick into the holder before I dipped it
