Had to take the test apart as my phone couldn't focus Hmm I think there's a line there it's just so so faint. Can anyone else see it? I'm only 9dpo and gave in Blush not going to test again until Sunday.

Tests are invalid once you take them apart.

What have you taken the pic in B&W? Is it a pink line or a grey line?

ellxx · 04/09/2018 07:44

You could see it while in the actual test as well, that's the only reason I took it apart. I put it in black and white to make it stand out more, wanted to put it in an inverted effect but didn't know how. Not sure of colour, I'll attach another pic, but it was definitely visible on the test before opening

I can't see anything. Sorry

PinkAvocado · 04/09/2018 07:45

I think that it’s almost impossible to tell once the test has been taken apart and the colour changed as indent lines can look like a positive. Can you post it in colour? Hope you get a bfp this month.

ellxx · 04/09/2018 07:50

So this is in colour. On all faint lines I can't say I've ever seen one pink, not when you have to squint to see it. I suppose only time will tell. I'll update and post on Sunday Grin

Wish I'd of tried harder to get a picture of it in the test!

Waitingonasmiley42 · 04/09/2018 07:55

Sorry there’s no colour to the line so it’s negative.

Good luck

sexnotgender · 04/09/2018 08:02

That looks like an indent.

ellxx · 04/09/2018 08:04

Do indents show before the test is taken apart? I've never seen one before on previous tests, surely that could get people's hopes up for nothingConfused

OP posts:
Waitingonasmiley42 · 04/09/2018 08:21

They can do. If you are only 9dpo there’s still plenty of time for a BFP. That line is definitely an indent and I can’t see any hint of colour.

JustChooseSomeCrisps · 04/09/2018 08:44

That looks like an indent.

But the whole "tests aren't invalid if you open them" is rubbish.

Once opened a BFP is still a BFP. A BFN wont suddenly become positive because you opened it. And an indent is an indent whether it's in or out the plastic..

ellxx · 04/09/2018 08:54

I've never heard of indents until now, probably why I just assumed it was positive because I saw a line. Still got some hope as I know how early I am. Thanks for replies Smile

just true, but if it doesn’t look positive before you take it apart then if it suddenly becomes ‘positive’ (I.e. you can see a sort of line) then I think that ‘result’ can pretty much be deemed invalid or inconclusive because it’s likely to be an indent.

ellxx · 04/09/2018 09:19

I could deffo seen a line before opening it, just didn't have a pink tinge to it! Oh well hopefully it gets some colour next time I test Grin

OP posts:
doddlebobs · 04/09/2018 12:35

That looks a lot like the indent I saw on the 2 FRERs I recently had cause to dissect! Sorry - all I can offer is to test again in a few days. Good luck

charliedontsurf · 04/09/2018 17:42

@ellxx just to add I can always see the indent line on FRERs too and it drives me mad. The indent is basically just the little niche where the dye would sit if it was BFP. Sadly if there's no colour in that line then it's BFN (from bitter experience Smile)

ellxx · 04/09/2018 17:46

Ah that's annoying! Glad I posted otherwise I would of assumed it was just a faint positive, I didn't know about indent lines Smile

I had no idea either until reading these boards then looking closer at them. Taking it out the case doesn’t make it ‘break’ as such but it makes indents clearer so then easier to assume a faint positive. It still may be your month-it so early yet.

Deller123 · 05/09/2018 09:46

@ellxx Hiya, I'm in the same situation and my tests look very similar. Never even seen a line, we have been trying for 15 months and all have been blank until last month I found out I was pregnant but unfortunately had a cp. this month I am 3 days late (I think) and unsure if mine are positive. I have done the same as you opened them because the camera doesn't pick up what I can see. These are pics of mine this month and I have blank ones to compare to that I kept and I can defiantly see something. Have a look, looks similar to yours xx

The first pic does look similar to mine. I'm no expert but I think the second pic you posted definitely looks positive. Fingers crossed for you! Grin

ellxx · 05/09/2018 10:25

Yeah done a cheapie today and was a BFN. Got a cheapie for each day to feed my POAS addiction haha. I'm trying to save my first response till AF due. Still only 10dpo!

No I'm trying for my second Smile are you trying for your first?
