Cycle tracking

I need more clarification on when to count day 1 of cycle. I've been counting it as first sign of any bleeding be it light or heavy. But I've been hearing conflicting information that I should only count the full AF flow as cycle day 1 and not when spotting starts? Which is odd as my period came two days late and then spotted with heavy show for two days. Can anyone clarify how I would count AF for cycle tracking please as I could be getting my dates wrong

Hi,
This cycle is my first real AF since stopping the pill.
I DTD on Friday night and there was pinkish discharge/spotting and the next day I began proper bleeding.

I counted that day as CD1

Hope this helps?
Maybe I'm doing it wrong too? But this is how I do it it :) x

I've never really had to think about all this so I've no idea what I am doing lol

I'm the same to be honest!
I started tracking my cycles a month before I went on the pill but then a cycle on the pill basically means nothing so wasn't worth recording really. So now I'm off the pill I'm trying to work out my cycle.

It was 46days between withdrawal bleed after the pill and my first real AF. I don't know if that is what my cycle will be or not. It's just a massive waiting and guessing game at the moment! It's not much use when you're TTC!!

I use the app Clue to track my cycles. It's useful seeing it all. And once cycles are regulated it predicts up to three future cycles so you can sort of see when you'll be due on. Do you use any apps?

I use the first response app, so far it's been ok predicting but couple of days out but gives me overall gist of when to expect AF, that's why we have just decided to DTD every other day to make all days are covered , I had PCOS early 20's so didn't think I could have any, my son was a shock but knowing my luck planning a second seems like it's going to be harder , only 2 month in and it feels like a lifetime lol
