Hello all, I'm new to the group. I have 3 beautiful children after 13 miscarriages. I was put on the depo injection 6 hours after my baby girl was born in June 2017. We decided to try for another baby so stopped the injection. My last actual injection was May 2018 but as of yet there is no sign of my cycle returning. I have been tracking ovulation with the sticks and so far nothing. I spoke to my Dr and was told to actively try to get pregnant as I could still ovulate even without a cycle. Do you have any help you could give. Starting to wonder if it will be possible again. I will be 35 in October 2018. Any help would be much appreciated. Thank you.

It can take up to a year or more for fertility to return after depo. 35 isn't that old

At most it is 18 weeks since you had your last depo injection and they are guaranteed to be effective for 13 weeks with effectiveness dropping from that point (which is why you shouldn’t go more than 13 weeks between injections if you want certainty that you won’t fall pregnant). Unfortunately you will need to allow the drugs to work their way out of your system which could be a number of months; and your cycle may not return to ‘normal’ for you for up to a year. I think your Dr will want you to wait a bit longer before they offer to investigate things.

Sorry to jump on your thread like this, OP, but we just wanted to let you know that we're moving your thread over to 'conception'.

We're sure you'll get some guidance on there. Thanks to everyone who's advised OP already.

Hi. I had my last depo injection october/November 2016 and only stared my cycle again in may 17. I was worried that it wasn't going to come back as I wanted to start a family. But here we are today and I've just discovered that I'm pregnant, first month of trying. I hope all goes well for you xx

Congrats on your pregnancy.
Fingers crossed it won't take too much longer, May 18 was my last injection. So far no signs of anything

@TrinaHug

I stopped the depo April 2017 didn't get a period and was pregnant by September 2017, everyone is different, try not to stress about it and just keep trying :)
