Brown spotting week before period

Hi everyone

Just a quickie. I'm due my period next weekend but the past 2 days I've had brown spotting and I've never had this before, last month I had one day of spotting but it was hardly noticeable. This time it's every time I wipe. We've literally only had sex once this month, granted it was in my fertile window but that was only weekend just gone so I'm a bit confused?

Could it be implantation? I'm trying not to get my hopes up as I had a chemical in March and we've not really been TTC since then for various reasons.

Yes it could be. Implantation is usually 5-7 days after conception so it's possible if you conceived last weekend.
I spot before a period now (never used to) but it's just a one off and a day or two before a period.
When I had an implantation bleed it lasted 2 days on and off. So yours could well be.

Just wanted to quickly comment. It’s possible implantation so fingers crossed. just a case of wait and see though I’m afraid. I don’t believe it’s always a case of frequency but timing ttc, I’m pretty sure when I had my daughter we’d only had sex once that week but it was def when I ovulated so fingers crossed for you

More spotting today, slightly heavier with some red in and a small clot. My period isn't due til next weekend. I'm so confused!

I would be tempted to test. If it's implantation then technically you should have some hcg to pick up now. You may have ovulated early, which is why this is happening now.

@keepingbees I'm going to get a frer tomorrow. I keep dropping hints to my DH so that if I am it's not such a shock. Thank you x

I guess so, though mine was only for 2 days. Started off red then turned brown and was only when I wiped. I can't think why else you'd have such light bleeding a week before your period. If your test is negative might be worth a chat with your gp.

I did one from work which is 25iu strength and it was a BFN. I'm not due on until Saturday so may be too early. I don't know. I feel pregnant but that may be psychological!

Yeah 25 isn't that sensitive, you want a 10 one really. Fingers crossed for you!

Hi, hard to say : for the last 4-5 months I had been getting 3-5 days of brown spotting prior to my period properly kicking in. It happened exactly the same way last cycle (5 days spotting) but the period never came and finally got bfp! It was no different that month to the previous months, can't say anything made it seem more of an implantation bleed that time around - sorry! Suggest get frer and test on day of period due - I got bfns on the IC tests on day after i was due, next day a strong bfp on the frer... Good luck!

Thank you. I got 4 Superdrug ones - 1 was a dud, 1 flooded and the other two negative. I'm trying not to get my hopes up 🙄

Try a first response early one with fmu. Could still be too early

Got some FRERs coming tomorrow but I did this this morning in work but then forgot about it so put it in my bag as I didn't want to be too long in the loo. Is this a positive?

it's not one I've used but that looks like a 2nd line in the top section. Assuming that means positive?? fingers crossed x

The top one is the control one and the bottom the test where I think is a faint line but not sure if it's an evap line. Thank you. Trying not to get my hopes up x

Ooh I'd say that's a positive. That test line has colour. I've never had one develop a line once dried out unless it's been positive

Hi, so I’m new to this - I hope I’m posting my question in the right place (forgive me if not:) - so had sex on 11th August and had my copper coil removed on the 13th August. I then found out from my monthly cycle app that I was fertile from the 14th Aug with ovulation day being the 19th Aug. So this this Sunday just gone 2nd sept I came on my period (bang on time) however this period was heavy for Sunday & Monday teeny bit tues then nothing? Which is very odd for me as I am super regular and usually on for 4-5 days! I am so confused as to what is going on? Could this be implantation bleeding even if it’s heavy? It just doesn’t seem like a ‘normal’ period for me? And also the cramping has started today oddly - nothing during my ‘period’ sorry for the essay ...hope someone can help or has experienced similar :)

More bleeding today, it's a bit redder. What is going on. Gonna hold out to do the FRER until tomorrow with FMU. Psh so frustrating.

Hi @Hansophia it might be your cycle, if you've just had your coil out recently it may take a while to settle. I'm not sure if having sex then having coil removed could mean you're pregnant. It may be better if you post you own thread as you may get more replies then x
