Not TTC. But is this a line?

We sort of thought we’d finished with babies, and have two kids. This month I realised I was having odd cramps (and a tiny bit of spotting) about 6 days ago. I’m on day 23 of AF with usually 26-28 day cycles. We are not TTC, but probably had sex at the right time.

Yesterday and the day before I had blue positives on Sainsbury’s tests but only long after the limit of the test. I know they are bad for evaps, so I bought a pink (Asda) test.

This is a line, right? A proper line? Oh my.

It's a line x

NamelessEnsign · 30/08/2018 08:01

My OP should say protected sex at the right time!

AmazingGrace. Oh my. Thought so Shock

Oh FFS. In a further confusing twist, the line has now completely disappeared. That doesn’t seem right!

My first thought was it looks a bit flooded, which might fit with the fact it has disappeared? Did you pee straight into it or dip it in a pot? I’ve had some dodgy results from peeing directly on that sort of test (essential Waitrose)...

NamelessEnsign · 30/08/2018 10:32

Did another test. BFN.

No that's dye run. Those tests are terrible for it.

And breeeaaath 😃

NamelessEnsign · 30/08/2018 11:09

Thanks, Monkey & Third! Perhaps it was flooded after all.

I’m still baffled by the odd cramping feeling I have and the heartburn (which started v early in my other pregnancies - unusually early). But I shall wait and see!

Always, always, always do a First Response. It's the gold standard.
What brand was this test?

TheVanguardSix · 30/08/2018 11:15

Oh it's Asda.
I've never used one of theirs.
But with Tesco and Sainsbury's, I've had loads of false positives.

Spend the money on a First Response. You'll save money in the long-run and you'll have a definitive answer.

NamelessEnsign · 30/08/2018 11:15

Vanguard, this was an Asda own brand test

OP posts:
NamelessEnsign · 30/08/2018 11:44

Interesting, Vanguard, and that’s dreadful - false positives shouldn’t be so common. Nobody wants to be in limbo!

Update: definitely not positive! AF has arrived.

How do you feel about that? Nothing like a scare to help you know if you want another baby or not!!

NamelessEnsign · 31/08/2018 20:42

Why thank you for asking! Mostly baffled and a bit concerned about the days of cramps and the heartburn. I don’t want this to be a regular thing!

TBH I would love a third DC if I didn’t have the horrible pregnancies and the hit to my career. DH however is not keen on the idea at all. I’m glad I didn’t freak him out over this!
