Not really sure where to post so thought this would be the best place but if not allowed please remove.
I had a scan today to check I am healed properly from c section, whilst in the scan they said my womb titled backwards, I felt I couldn't ask too many questions as it was just a scan to check everything was okay with the scar area. What I wanted to ask is is this normal? And how will it affect fertility?
Asking because I would love her babies! With my first it took over 3 years to conceive tia x

It doesn't affect fertility at all. It's a bit like being left handed. It's different to the norm but not abnormal.

I have one.

I’ve conceived five times (six of you count a twin pregnancy as two conceptions) each on the first or second try.

I have had losses but I was assured it was nothing to do with my uterus, and instead to do with a blood issue I have.

The only problem it gives me is painful periods and difficulty scanning in pregnancy.

Thankyou so much for your replies, because it took 3 years before I wondered if that could have been the reason!! You've put my mind at rest!! Xx

I've got one too
No problems at all TTC

StitchingMoss · 28/08/2018 22:57

I have a uterus that tilts backwards - I had to have IVF to conceive but that was down to my tubes not my uterus!

Shouldn’t cause you any trouble.

DramaAlpaca · 28/08/2018 22:57

I also have a tilted womb. It caused no problems with fertility, I have three DC all conceived reasonably quickly.

The only issue I've found is that it makes smear tests a little more awkward.

BlairWaldorfsHeadband · 28/08/2018 22:58

Thank you. We’re having twins now which is a happy result Smile

Your titled uterus shouldn’t cause you any trouble. You might find you need internal scans - I have to have them until about 16 weeks, because abdominally they can’t see anything.

HerSymphonyAndSong · 28/08/2018 22:59

Mine is (was?) retroverted - it had flipped forward by 12 week scan

Childrenofthesun · 28/08/2018 23:00

I have one that is very tilted. Conceived very easily both times. The only thing it affected is that I think it caused me to feel contractions in my back rather than abdomen, but that's just an assumption.

rachyrach300 · 29/08/2018 06:25

Yup my is tilted too! No problems getting pregnant then it flipped forward during pregnancy and then back agai afterwards! The body is amazing x

MrsBonnie · 29/08/2018 22:49

Mine is tilted and we got pregnant first try - basically blinked and there we were! Haha

Pebblesandfriends · 29/08/2018 22:52

I have one, hot pregnant really quickly each time no issues with pregnancy, really nothing to worry about Flowers

Whatifigglepiggleandpeppadated · 29/08/2018 22:55

Mine is tiltied got 2 dc have been pregnant more but we won’t go into that. I do find sex uncomfortable in some positions and I have read that this could be a reason ( not sure how but defo red it somewhere)

Darkstar4855 · 29/08/2018 23:17

I think about 20% of women have a tilted (retroverted) uterus. It’s nothing to worry about!
