TTC - Ovulation tests, when is best to test?

Hi Smile I'm new to all of this; TTC baby #1.
Came off Nexplanon just over a week ago. Have done lots of reading and have understood that it could take a while for my body to get back into a normal routine, so very much waiting for at least 1 AF before trying properly.
However, because I did have AF (not always regularly) while on the implant curiosity has got the better of me and I've decided to start using an ovulation test just to help monitor things.
I've been using 'Clear Blue OT Advanced Digital' first thing in the morning (as the instructions suggested), currently on CD13 and got a low result again. I had read that other people had found that using other tests later in the day gave them a more accurate reading (LH had had chance to pass into their urine later in the day) but as test sticks are so expensive I've been apprehensive to go against the instructions and test later in the day, especially as my cycle may still be all over the place!
So happy that I took another test this afternoon; I got a flashing smiley face! (High LH levels Smile ) My question is, has anyone else used this type of OPK? - what time of day did you find was best to test?
