@Crossfitgirl @cookies @Crossfitgirl I was researching online at some hints and tips people suggested. Other than evening primrose, folic acid, grapefruit juice and cough syrup (I know you're thinking I'm actually INSANE trying all this!), some girls said wearing a cup (never even seen one before!) works at keeping the sperm close to the cervix increasing chances. But tbh if it was that successful then this knowledge would be EVERYWHERE and recommended by docs etc. So maybe it's ridiculous. How long have you guys been trying? Xxxxx

buntingandstarcharts · 29/08/2018 10:53

Ahh bold! Sorry

sunshine1987 · 29/08/2018 11:08

@AlwaysInJods of course, welcome to our little crazy community 😊

CookieWaffle · 29/08/2018 11:43

@buntingandstarcharts we've been trying for 4 months so far, this will be month 5. In 4 months I've had 2 CPs so sperm met egg at least. I've made sure I stayed lay down for at least 15 mins but not used a cup yet. Perhaps we just got lucky!

buntingandstarcharts · 29/08/2018 11:47

@CookieWaffle that's amazing! I'm so jel. I've had no sign of any positive in anyway whatsoever😭😭 Terrible disappointment I imagine getting a chemical pregnancy 😪

CookieWaffle · 29/08/2018 11:55

@buntingandstarcharts yep on the one hand it's great, on the other, tremendously traumatic. Its taken a few weeks to get over the last one!

buntingandstarcharts · 29/08/2018 11:56

@CookieWaffle sorry when I said I'm jealous, purely jealous that you've had positive lines: I realise that sounded incredibly rude, sorry 😥

buntingandstarcharts · 29/08/2018 11:58

@CookieWaffle my friend who had two miscarriages said it was the worst thing when people said 'at least you've been pregnant'. I should have been more sensitive ❤️

CookieWaffle · 29/08/2018 12:04

Oh don't you worry @buntingandstarcharts I am and should be hugely grateful for even a squint! At my age I've been so worried about if I could even get pregnant. I'm happy to say at least I know theres a chance!

sunshine1987 · 29/08/2018 12:22

Argh someone stop me but just been to the toilet and I swear my CM is pink tinged. I'm 10DPO today and had creamy CM for the past few days, not loads but enough to notice. I'm driving myself nuts this month and told myself after last month I wouldn't do this 🙈

MrsReader · 29/08/2018 12:31

Congratulations purplestar! 💖💖💖

CookieWaffle · 29/08/2018 12:45

If it helps @sunshine1987 just remember that only a test can tell you if you are pregnant, any other signs could just be normal cycle stuff.

That being said ill be keeping finger crossed for you xx

sunshine1987 · 29/08/2018 12:48

Thanks @CookieWaffle that's the reality check I definitely needed lol, waiting until Saturday to test. Just need to slap myself until then x

CookieWaffle · 29/08/2018 12:54

Ooh fingers* crossed of course!

MrsR16 · 29/08/2018 13:07

@sunshine1987 we'll hold out together! 😊

ValidUser · 29/08/2018 13:08

Aah congrats @purplestar9!

Crossfitgirl · 29/08/2018 13:14

@buntingandstarcharts we stopped using condoms in May, so I'm currently on cycle 5 now (my cycles are 26 days) but we haven't been actively trying - this was meant to be our first month of actually "trying", Although we've had more sex around ovulation during previous months!

@sunshine1987 think how much money and potential disappointment you save if you just wait til AF is due. Once you're late, not only are you in with a chance, but it's also likely to be accurate!
I haven't needed to test at all as AF has come on time except for just one cycle, where bfn and AF both came a day late. That's like £20 saved on decent tests not to mention any retests from testing early and not believing the result!
Convinced yet?? 😁😁😁

@shelly10 sorry a belated reply - did you get a positive yet?
I am so confused, I had a positive opk Monday, then negative Tuesday, then I've had my clear blue positive today with the solid smiley, so I redid an OPK and there is a fairly strong line there again, not as strong as the control.

I'm so confused!

Wish I could DTD tonight but I'm out plus I don't really want to broach it again!

@Crossfitgirl haha yes! I've not tested early for the past six months so know I can do it, just these past two months since I've been charting have been way worse. But money, I like money lol 🤑

ProseccoBee · 29/08/2018 15:17

@purplestar 9 congrats! Amazing news

ChaosMoon · 29/08/2018 15:46

@purplestar9 I'm soooo pleased for you! I could have put money on this being your month. It was like you were describing me last month! How are you feeling?

@Crossfitgirl it sounds like you've been having a horrible time. Big hugs. Opks are notoriously awkward to read. Not only can your LH level fluctuate for a variety of reasons, it's actually not that uncommon to get two peaks in a month. It's the second one that tends to coincide with actual ovulation. Has your temperature gone up now? Bearing in mind that it hadn't with the last positive, it sounds more likely that this is the right one. Good luck either way, and don't forget that it's not called a fertile window for nothing. Any time in that period and you're in with a chance.

I'm afraid I'm getting worse and worse at replying to everyone. Hugs and baby dust to all.

Delilah7 · 29/08/2018 15:51

5 weeks today and no period.... fucking cycle

sunshine1987 · 29/08/2018 16:01

@Delilah7 when do you get results back from the dr's? x

BabySquid · 29/08/2018 16:04

So I've just finished reading the ENTIRE thread! Oh my lord a lot has happened since Saturday afternoon lol
Good to see a few BFP's already, hoping this is a lucky thread.
I see a few were worried about exercising when pregnant, as a qualified PT I can tell you it can only help, as long as you don't try do more than you do now. Weight training is great as it helps with core muscles which can only assist you in labour. BUT... if you don't already, then don't start it when you get your BFP as it can be more detrimental.
Also reading about how often people DTD, we've found ourselves doing it more in the past few months, I think wanting a baby so much has made us both a bit mad for it!! Here's mine to share with everyone else's.

TTC first baby... mega thread!
