Ovulation test

This is my first post, sorry if it's in the wrong place. Just after a bit of advice please - we have been (well, i have been) using those little strips to try to figure out when I'm ovulating, I use them in conjunction with an app on my phone that tracks my period.

This month I started testing from day 10 as the instructions advised, and on Thursday I had the strongest colour and believed that I was ovulating, this was also the day the app told me I would be so I figured everything was good.

The instructions say that when you get a positive result, which I believe I did ovulation can occur within 12 -72 hours.

I did the test again the next day, and nothing, the control line was there, but no test line at all.

So my question is - did I ovulate really quickly?

Was that my one chance for this month?

The ovulation tests only pick up the LH surge indicating that ovulation will take place so it's because the surge had dipped as your body was ovulating / gearing up to. This happened with mine too x
