TTC - Early AF or something else?

Hi everyone - just a little warning I will be sharing tmi 😂 sorry if this is too long, I need reassurance to stop me from completely losing the plot if I haven't already

DH and I are TTC for our first, and currently in cycle 1. CD1 was 1st of August, I think I ovulated around the 14th, I had EWCM and ovulation pains. DTD as much as we could and I've had a fair few symptoms in the last week (I'm aware I could just be symptom spotting too much though)

I'm now CD24 - last night I went to the loo and had a spot of brown discharge. I'd not been to the loo all day, so unsure of when it happened. This is v unusual for me. I wiped, and had watery bright red blood - again, very unusual for me. This was also accompanied with really severe cramping.

It appeared to have stopped overnight, but then this morning it began again. I still have cramping, nowhere near as harsh as yesterday but it's there. The blood is also still bright red and watery.

Here's the issue; AF isn't due until around the 31st, so I still have a week to go. I'm quite regular, and I've never started AF this early before. Also, I'm usually very heavy, and AF starts with very dark blood and lots of clotting, gradually getting lighter towards the end. This doesn't feel anything like AF though - it's very light, watery, and bright red (completely the opposite of my normal period)

Has anyone had any experience with this before? I've spoke to my Doctor who couldn't really advise anything, so I thought I'd post on here to see...

Have you taken a test? You'd be around 10dpo from your dates? In which case it may be a bit early I guess but could still show.

I would say bright red bloody plus pains sounds more like af than anything else but even so be worth seeing how it goes and testing over next few days.

Fx for you.

@sprinkleofsunshine I've taken two today, both negative, which I expected. I'll definitely keep an eye on it! AF isn't usually bright red for me though so unsure 😩

Could possibly be implantation bleeding but sounds a bit more than that.
I've never had it though so not sure just going by what I've read
