BBT Timing Question

Hi everyone,

I’m doing BBT testing this month for the first time, and I know you’re supposed to do it at the same time every day, first thing in the morning before you move etc for most accurate results, however I can’t find a steer online about how perfectly timed it should be. E.g. Most mornings for work I wake up at 5.15am, fine, but one or two mornings a week I can wake up at 5.40am instead. Would those extra 25 mins make any difference, or should I still get up at 5.15am for consistency?

Thanks in advance for any guidance!

Mine varies by about an hour (do it when i first wake up , usually around 4.30-5.30) Seems to be fine.i get a clear ov pattern.
I think i read that some peoples bbt is more affected by time of day, ive also read that temping vaginally is more stable. So it might be worth trying that The only thing you can do is give it a try. If you use FF, record what time you're taking the temp too.

My temps are VERY affected by time of day. I try to keep it within a half hour time frame (6-6.30) as any earlier my temps are lower any any later my temps are higher.

Thanks 8day and CN - looks like I can try and get away with my 25 min lie in then! Grin

I know youre not supposed to but I always do mine before I go to sleep. I find it easier to get into my routine that way. I always seem to get a nice biphasic graph with clear temp rise even doing it in the evening

Thanks @loupe - that’s really helpful to know
