TTC #2 How long did it take?

So Dh and I have decided that rather than wait 3 years or more like we planned, to try for DC2 now, main;y so I can (hopefully) get the horrible HG pregnancies out of the way. It also means that the DC could have a closer age gap, in the same way DH and his brother have, and me with my DSis.

However, I've not had a period, and I'm breastfeeding, but do think I had a type of period just over a week ago as I had bad period pains for three days and very very slight bleeding (that only showed when I wiped). I can't really be bothered getting ovulation sticks because honestly, I don't have the patience to sit and work things out but DTD is a lot more enjoyable than planning. DH stresses more with planning anyway

So I just really wanted to gauge how long I could potentially be waiting for. DS was first try, but we did DTD around when my predicted ovulation was. I'm just wondering if I inherited my mum and my nan's super-fertility powers or not... (I know that's not how it works but still)

It’s impossible to tell how long it may take! My first was conceived after 6 weeks of TTC, my second after a good 6/7 months. I’m now pregnant with DC3 - had my coil removed 4 week ago and got a postive test last Friday, never even had a period.

I think enjoy some jolly good sex and see what happens. Good luck OP - sending baby dust your way xx

Same as previous poster, it just depends unfortunately. I got pregnant with DS1 on 3rd try and this pregnancy, 2nd. Xz

DS2 took me a bit by surprise as I was still breastfeeding & DS1 was only 7 months old. It literally took the one try, which was also a surprise as it had taken almost a year to get DS1. It's been nice having them close in age.

Thanks ladies; theres a part of me that has always felt id never have problems getting pregnant. Always felt the pregnancy itself would be the biggest hurdle.
Until I certainly shall enjoy some jolly good sex. DH is just glad I'm actually feeling up for it. Had a massive slump for ages. He's so happy.
Drama DS is 8 months so we'll see how things go. At least he's cruising and crawling so can move around.

Had DC1 20 months ago, EBF for six months (combined with food for a further three), had a couple of light periods after that once I stopped and then conceived DC2 first month of trying (aged 38 almost 39). Full term tomorrow Shock

Dd was very first month and currently about to start on month 6 for for #2. I know people who tried for over a year for #1 and then caught within 3 months for #2 so you just can't tell at all.
