TRAVELLING ABROAD AFTER IVF

Me and my husband really want to go on a holiday to Mauritius, it is Zika free which is why we have chosen that as a location. It is just a pure relaxation holiday and we have stayed at the hotel before (after TTC for so long Zika free has been our location criteria)

Because of work commitments we can not go away in Nov/Dec/Jan

The latest window we have to get away this year would be about the 12th October for about 12 days, which feels so close after the IVF, but then I feel like I can not keeping putting life off in hope we might get pregnant, we did not go away at all last year and have had a week off this year to go down to Cornwall as it was a friends wedding. Always trying to save money and holiday entitlement at work to use for IVF etc.

Half of me thinks that if god willing we are successful with our IVF it would be lovely to have one last adult holiday together.

I have of course been Googling like mad the safety of flying when in early stages of pregnancy and can not find any dangers apart from the fact it can be unpleasant if you suffer from morning sickness.

By the 12th Oct I am assuming we will know if the IVF was successful and will have been able to rule out if it was an ectopic pregnancy as I believe they scan you if you are lucky enough (everything crossed) to have our dream of a positive test to check where the embryo has implanted correctly?

I would love to hear your honest opinions and please be honest!!!!

Absolutely go, there is no risk to pregnancy at this early stage & if you do (I hope not) get a negative it will give you something to look forward to & a week of relaxation. & if you do get your BFP what an amazing last hoorah holiday that'll be! No reason why you shouldn't OP, you're going through enough don't deny yourself this ☀️

I'm 7wks pregnant after a success maul round of IVF to become a surrogate, and came back from New Zealand yesterday (2 looooong flights!). It's totally safe to fly in early pregnancy, soho and enjoy a wonderful holiday Smile

I flew to China twice whilst pregnant, first trip at 22 weeks and second at 26 weeks. Having to pee more often is the only downside! Definitely go.
