am i pregnant or miscarriage?

so, i found out that i was pregnant about 5 weeks ago, i did a clear blue test and it said i was 3+ weeks. i had some bleeding so i called the doctors, health centre and the hospital midwives and they all said i would be fine unless i had a lot of blood and pain. i booked a private scan and had it 3 weeks ago tomorrow. the scan showed no sack or anything and the lady said she thought the bleed had stopped the pregnancy. i did not have a vaginal scan (i was very scared and upset). i have done tests since and they are still coming up as positive but some show only a fainter line. im so confused weather i am pregnant or not. ive started to feel sick again and became really tired.

Yes. You are pregnant. Congrats!!

However, that doesn't mean it's a viable pregnancy and it also doesn't mean that anything's wrong. A pregnancy test just can't do that. At 5-6 weeks, you should have a vaginal ultrasound if you have one.

I would push to get gp more involved because of the bleeding. Perhaps push for hcg blood tests done 48 hours apart. Have you been in any pain?

Wait, sorry. I've just done the maths - you should be 8 or more weeks pregnant. Forget the bloods. Push for another scan.

I’m so confused, the lady that did the scan said she thinks I had a miscarriage and the bleed had stopped the pregnancy. I’ve not had a test yet say not pregnant but they have had the second line a lot more faint. I’ll call my GP tomorrow and see if I can push for another scan! It’s just horrible at the moment I just want to know!

Ah this post really hurt my heart because the exact same happened to me when I miscarried. You really need an internal scan at that point due to you being so early. I rang 111 when it happened to me and they booked me into a&e, when I got examined they booked me in for a scan however when I was scanned because I was early they couldn't detect a heartbeat so they told me to go back in another 2 weeks however that was too long for me to wait. Another way that you can find out is through blood tests if you aren't comfortable with an internal scan. You can just get them through your gp. They monitor your hcg levels every 48 hours, and if it drops it means that your pregnancy unfortunately isn't viable as your hcg levels should double every 48 hours. I hope this helps x

I know that it can still be positive a couple of weeks after but it’s been 3 now. I did a test last week and it came back with one strong and one faint line but a week later it is still the same. I’m going to do another test tomorrow and if it’s the same again I will call my GP and push for bloods. I go away for a week on Saturday so hopefully they can do something tomorrow x

It says on the test packet that If one line is fainter then your HCG levels are low so I’ve done another test a week later and it is still the same x

When I had an early mc a few months ago the dr advised the hcg can stay in the system for 3 weeks so to test again at that time. It sounds like residue If they are setting fainter and the hospital seemed to think you had mc but fx it's not!

It will be 3 weeks ago tomorrow that I had the scan. I had some bleeding and some light pain like period pain but not bad. I also didn’t pass anything but the lady who did the scan checked my ovaries and womb and uterus as well to ensure I didn’t have an Ectopic pregnancy

Hi can some please give me some advise
My husband and I have been trying for our second for a while I was due on my period on Sunday (today is thur) I have had a brown discharge for about 7 days and today I hade red blood which I thought ok here comes my period but it was just one wipe of blood and nothing since ???!!
I have done tests the latest being this morning and all come back negative
I'm concerned for many reasons
Could this be a miscarriage ?
Ectopic pregnancy ?
I'm really unsure

@Babycakes97 sometimes with a miscarriage, you don't pass anything, but instead the body absorbs it. I have to say though, that the line on your test looks quite dark considering you're potentially 3wks on. Have you considered doing a digital test that tells you the weeks to see whether the result corresponds to the number of weeks that you should be? Definitely also push for another scan. It must be so difficult to be in limbo like that, I really hope you get a happy ending.

@Jojo527 if it was a miscarriage or ectopic then you would be getting positive pregnancy tests, albeit faint, so I would say that it's just your body having a weird month...we all have them, and I know in my case it would typically happen when TTC. I hope you get a BFP very soon.
