Early 20's ttc

Hello! I'm new here, wondering if there's any others in their early 20's ttc? Smile

OP posts:
webster144 · 15/08/2018 07:36

I'm mid 20s and my TTC journey has been going on since the tail end of last year!
I had a MC at 5/6 weeks last October after getting my BFP on our first month ttc, we tried again after MC till this February but stopped from February until June as we were getting married and had so many other things to plan and I had to fit into my dress for sure!
Not had any luck since June since after the wedding 😔 Beginning to worry if there's something wrong with me! 😣 We're doing everything right I feel...timing, pre seed (I don't produce a lot of EWCM, sorry TMI), and fairly good diets and taking pre vits aswell.

How's things with you? Nice to have someone similar ages with me ttc #1!
xx

webster144 · 15/08/2018 07:40

Ps. My period is due tomorrow, I'm 15dpo today, had spotting at 8dpo which could have been implantation and only lasted the day, but haven't really had any other symptoms since then apart from aching boobs which I get some months with AF so not sure if that could be sign for me. My fingers are crossed but I've been having cramps this morning quite bad and feel a bit moody so feel AF will probably hit me later today or tomorrow 😞 xx

TheLuckyHare · 15/08/2018 09:05

I was starting to think there wasn't anyone out there! Sorry to hear about your MC Flowers
Congratulations on your wedding!!
Last month was first cycle for us but AF arrived this morning so on to cycle 2! I'm a stresser so apart from tracking cycles and taking a vitamins, I'm trying not to think about it too much, I feel like I'll end up making things worse!
Fingers crossed for no AF for you! Smile
Have you told anyone in RL that you're ttc? Xx

Sorry to hear AF got you @TheLuckyHare, I feel I'll be joining you very shortly!
I always forget to take my pre vits but have been trying to eat healthier and try not to focus too hard on ttc but you know what it's like, you try tell yourself not to think about it but everyday you inevitably do...😕

Yes we've told both our parents, but I feel there's so much pressure from everyone...people keep asking us any baby news or dropping wee hints and I feel like I could scream sometimes! On the other hand we also get comments saying we're too young to have children which I think is quite unfair, considering we just got married and both of us have our own house!

Do you use any period tracker apps? I use Flo and it's always bang on! My cycles are normally around 27/28 days long, AF due tomorrow and due to next ovulate on 29th. We should keep in touch as our cycles are so close - would love to know how you're getting on and if you get your BFP next cycle 🤞🏻x

Have you told anyone you're ttc? x

Momma22 · 15/08/2018 10:43

Hi! I'm 25, been TTC baby no.2 for the last 4 months. Have a 2 year old DD, and unfortunately had a MC back in April Sad

I started this whole TTC journey feeling optimistic I naively thought because I'd gotten pregnant twice before without ever really trying, and because of my age, I'd be pregnant straight away. It's not worked out like that, and although I'm only going into my 5th month of trying which I know is really not that long at all, it feels like an eternity!

You just think I'm young, fit and healthy, and I've managed to get pregnant at the drop of a hat before, why's it not happening now I want it to? And I've tried nearly every trick in the book now (opks, vitamins, pressed. Etc.)

Just got a BFN this morning at what I think is 13dpo, so now just patiently waiting for AF, feeling a bit sorry for myself.

Fingers crossed we all get our BFP soon Smile🤞

webster144 · 15/08/2018 11:07

Hi @Momma22,sorry to hear about your MC, it's such an awful experience to go through Thanks

I naively thought the same too! Fell pregnant first month trying last year (ended in mc) and haven't been able to fall pregnant again yet. We tried Oct-Jan then started in June again, so been ttc a total of 6ish months. It sucks because I have friends falling pregnant at the drop of a hat or by accident and here I am praying every month for my BFP.

We all seem about the same time in our cycles, I'm 15dpo today and have had 4 BFNs on tests, haven't tested today though but feel AF is just round the corner - feeling very achy and crampy and heavy. FX though....

Have you tried SMEP? Xx

webster144 · 15/08/2018 11:12

Forgot to mention, the only thing I'm clinging to is spotting at 8dpo which only lasted the day, but knowing my body it's probably playing tricks on me 😔

Momma22 · 15/08/2018 12:20

Hi @webster144 sorry to hear about your miscarriage too FlowersSad it really does suck when everybody else around you seems to be getting pregnant, I feel like every woman i see on the street lately is pregnant! Think my mind might be playing tricks on me though. I don't know about you but since my miscarriage my cycles have been a bit all over the place, some months have been 27 days whilst others have been 35! Some months I've got more than one positive opk, some I've ovulated cd 10 and others cd 20, plus I've had random spotting between periods. Feel like I need a chat with the doctor, but I feel he's reallly not gonna take me seriously because of my age and the short amount of time I've been trying.

We wanted to do the SMEP this cycle, but it was a little too regimented for us, we just DTD whenever we fancied it, and made sure to DTD several times in my fertile window. Have you tried it?

Well neither of us have had a visit from AF yet. So there's still a glimmer of hope! Maybe we got our ovulation dates completely wrong? Here's hoping!

webster144 · 15/08/2018 13:04

@Momma22 I know the feeling, everywhere I look too there is pregnant women surrounding me and I'd do anything to be in their shoes! Our time will come though 🤞🏻

I've actually not had any irregularities after the miscarriage, my period took about 6 weeks to come back and jumped right back into its usual way like clockwork. Still doesn't seem to be working for me though as I'm clearly not pregnant yet!!! If I were you I'd pop along to your doctors and ask them, some women do just have irregular periods and mcs can certainly cause this and there's definitely no harm in asking!
I've also been using clear blue digital ovulation kit this month and it worked perfectly, I had been using before hand internet cheapies and was never really sure if I was getting positives or some were duds, but the CBD is really clear to understand. We tried SMEP twice in the past and I agree like you it was a little too "dtd here here and here" for us and we just go with the flow. Maybe I should give it a try next month since nothing seems to have worked for me yet?!

I've been so crampy today so far and just went to the loo and have a little pink/brown when wiping....looks like I'm out! Will wait and see what happens the rest of the day though but pretty sure witchy is here.
God luck to you!!! Please let us know xx

Coffeewithmyoxyg3n · 15/08/2018 13:36

Hi, can I join ! I'm 24 and trying for my second at the moment. I have a 4 year old DD and we have been ttc no 2 for 9 months now with no luck. I have always been irregular and only had 3 periods since we started ttc back in December, so don't think I'm ovulating at all. I'm finally getting checked for PCOS and had the bloods this week so hoping they can work out if I am actually ovulating or not.

It's been a very emotional time, more so than I expected and I made the mistake of telling some family that I am ttc and they are now constantly asking and I get upset with each time I have to insist I'm not just hiding it from them. Not helped by the fact my cousin's both are pregnant so I am surrounded by pregnancy and sad looks when it gets brought up!

Ells0204 · 15/08/2018 17:39

I’m 25 and been TTC #1 for 8 cycles, including unfortunately one chemical pregnancy and one early MC at 5-6 weeks bask in April. This is my 5th cycle since my MC.

I thought I would be pregnant and even had the baby by the end of the year when we first started lol, but who knew it wasn’t that easy hey. GL everyone xx

js934 · 15/08/2018 17:46

I’m 21! Partners 25, not TTC, as don’t think it’s the right time yet, buying our first house soon, should be soon after that.. Hopefully!
Stopping the pill after this round, then going to be using natural cycles to track my periods so when it does come to TTC, I’m ready!Grin
Hope it all goes well for you!! Best of luck xxx

Momma22 · 15/08/2018 21:11

It's reassuring to read all of the ttc stories from other ladies in their 20s. It's taking us a little longer than expected, all you hear and read is how your 20s are supposed to be your baby making prime! And when it doesnt happen as quickly as you'd planned, you start to think, 'what's wrong with me?' 'am I broken?' Etc. But in reality there are plenty of younger ladies out there going through the exact same thing you are, who aren't just getting pregnant at the drop of a hat, it's just not spoken about

Hopefully we all get our BFP soon 🤞

webster144 · 16/08/2018 07:07

@Coffeewithmyoxyg3n
Hi! Good luck with your blood work and I hope it all comes back okay! I totally understand the emotional side, I also went to the mistake of telling my overly keen mother in law that we were ttc and she's told everyone and everyone keeps dropping hints...my cousin also fell pregnant a month after I did last year (my mc), and has gone on to have a beautiful healthy baby a month after my due date, which has been really hard for my husband and I as we should be holding a gorgeous new born too and I would have loved for them to have been similar ages. Life can be so shit sometimes huh? x

@Ells0204
Hi! So sorry to hear about your chemical and mc. It's nice to hear I'm not alone, same age and roughly same ttc cycles with no luck and also a mc. Have you been trying anything such as ovulation kits or pre seed or anything? Are your cycles quite regular and do you track? x

@Momma22
I know the feeling of "am I broken?", but it's reassuring to know I'm not alone because at times I've felt (and I'm sure everyone else has) extremely alone and like there is something wrong with me and worried it's never going to happen. I really hope we all get our BFPs soon, I'm giving it my best shot next month 💪🏻 Saying that, my period is due today and no sign yet this morning but feeling her coming soon...will keep yous updated 🤞🏻 x

Ells0204 · 16/08/2018 11:51

Thanks @momma22 I needed to hear those words!

@webster144 I’m using OPKs but don’t temp. Luckily I’m regular enough and have enough O symptoms to rely on those alone! I’ve been O’ing on CD14 for the last few months so currently BDing with Conceive Plus (same as Preseed!) as O day is Monday! I am also taking Maca and Agnus Castus at the moment, and will be using progesterone cream after O. Willing to try anything now!!

webster144 · 16/08/2018 12:37

@Ells0204 how are you finding the maca and Angus cactus? I've heard about them before but never thought about taking them as a lot of things I read about them were to do with irregular cycles and a few mentions of pcos which neither I have. Would be really interested to know as I'm up for taking anything at the minute that might help me conceive! 🤞🏻x

Ells0204 · 16/08/2018 18:08

@webster144 so I started the Maca in the middle of my last MC as I heard about it’s hormone balancing properties. I don’t have full blown PCOS however I do have ovarian cysts and always suspected even from a teenager that I had a hormone imbalance, but have not tests to confirm this.
My cycles used to be 28-35 days O’ing on CD19; since taking the Maca I am clockwork 28 days and it bought O forward to CD14 so very pleased with the results so far!
I have only just started Agnus Castus however thinking of stopping because it gives me terrible nausea and dizziness so I think it’s just not working for me!

Will be my first time trying progesterone cream and I had to order it from America so wish me luck lol

I definitely recommend trying Maca, I get it from Holland and Barratt and take 3-4 capsules a day which is 1500-2000mg. It cannot harm you as is it actually a superfood not a herb, and is widely used as a staple piece in the Peruvian diet, much like a potato is to us! X

Coffeewithmyoxyg3n · 16/08/2018 20:07

Thanks @webster144 just want to know what's going on so I can get the right medication!

Going to look at maca as anything that might help I'm willing to try

Madison256 · 16/08/2018 21:46

Hey!!!

I'm mid 20s TTC my first child. I am very new to all of this, I have only been trying for the last few months after I had my coil removed. I'm aware that it can take time for the contraception to get out of your system but everyone in my family is so fertile and all got pregnant very quickly. It feels like it would have happened fast (not like I have been waiting overly long) everyone has different advice on what you need to do but I suppose everyone is different. It's comforting to see others who are at the same of different stages of it all. Sending love to all ❤️

Ells0204 · 17/08/2018 08:07

Welcome @madison256

@webster144 did AF show up? I had a dream last night I got a BFP. Honestly believed it too when I woke up! Ugh.

webster144 · 17/08/2018 13:02

@Ells0204 AF got me last night unfortunately, so gutted! Didn't feel it was our month though, although I can't account for the random spotting at 8dpo which was weird and so unlike me 🤔 Anyway, onto next month. My husband and I are away on holiday next week just after my period finishes so I'm looking forward to being away in a new and relaxing environment and just having a bit of fun!
Spent last night reading up on Maca and really interested in giving it a shot, although I'm not sure I fall into the bracket of women who are taking it for fertility as I have regular periods etc but I suppose it can't hurt to try?
When do you plan on testing? I hope you get your BFP!!!

cupcakesandglitter · 17/08/2018 13:16

Hi can I join? I'm 23 TTC #1 and actually cycle one this month (I think I'm out already) xx

Katexoxo · 17/08/2018 14:09

Hi everyone! I’m 25 ttc and came off the pill over a month ago, still no sign of period but nervous to take a PT as if it’s negative I’ll be stressed that there’s something wrong and my hormones dont work properly! Shall wait and see a bit longer, good luck everyone! X

Unicorn93 · 17/08/2018 15:10

Hey,
I’m 25 and ttc#1
stopped the pill about a month ago, AF due on Monday. Trying to wait until then before taking a test! Good luck everyone x
