Conceiving after Depo

Hi all,
So, in may this year dp & I suffered a miscarriage with my first pregnancy. I had to have some follow up for a couple of months and then was cleared for ttc again. Stupidly I decided our experience was too traumatic and went back on Depo-Provera injection. I have only had one shot around 6 weeks ago & so there are 6 weeks left before it wears off. We have decided we do actually want to ttc and I was too hasty to jump back onto contraception. I have read that fertility can take a while to come back after depo & I just wondered if anyone has any stories about ttc after depo. Thanks!

Hey! I was on the depo for 3 years before I conceived my eldest son. Came off it to give my body a break when I was 19.. The doctor told me it takes on average around 18 months for your body/fertility to return to normal. My last shot ran out at the end of March and I was pregnant by the start of June! Wasn't planned, clearly I was very naive in thinking I would be safe for a few months 🤦🏼‍♀️ a happy surprise none the less and just goes to show it can happen very quick!! I hadn't even had a proper period.

Sorry to say but I had one shot of depo in march last year and it has completely messed me up. I am having 2 periods every month still!

I was on the depo for around a year. I came off due to migraines and sickness and just wanting to give my body a break. I came off the depo in October 2017 and by May 2018, me and my partner decided we wanted to try to conceive. However I still had not had a period from coming off the depo. I researched into options and read about Angus castus. I started taking these at the beginning of May, and my periods came back within two weeks. On July 13th I found out I was pregnant, went for a scan and I was 5 weeks 2 days. Unfortunately, my baby didn't make it past 6 weeks

Hi @Littup sorry if this sounds negative. I was on depo for about 4 years, I came off it as I had read about fertility problems and went on the mini pill. Periods came back so I stupidly had 1 more depo just before my wedding because I didn’t want my period while on honeymoon. That was July 14th 2017 I got my first period back in jan 2018 and got pregnant in about April but had early MC then got pregnant unexpectedly on the 14th July 2018. It took exactly 12 months to get pregnant. Just had an early scan and everything looks good with a little heartbeat.

If I had known the extent of the complications caused by the depo injection, I would of never of had it. Good luck and I hope you are one of the lucky few that gets pregnant quickly!!
