Period after breastfeeding (no clue)

So I've been breastfeeding DS for 8.5 months. Postpartum bleeding lasted almost exactly 6 weeks, then I had 3 periods almost straight after each other because I was combi feeding and body just went nuts. Was on the pill for 3 months and bleeding stopped. Not periods since.

Except 4 days ago I went to the loo. I'd been having pains and I guess they were period pains but because it's been so long since I had them last I wasn't sure. Reminded me of my early contractions.

Anyway, went to the loo and there was some pink blood, the type you get when you've literally just started. First thought was because we DTD the night before but put a pad on anyway and pains continued and there was a smidgen of blood on there when I next changed it. Seems to have been the same last 2 days as well.

So... would this count as a Period? I'm usually a lot heavier and we're hoping to TTC again in the next few months and having a period to track will really help us.

Don’t know for sure I’m afraid, but if you’re not pregnant I’d count it as a period, yes. I’d track from now and see how things go. No chance it could have been an implantation bleed?

@Goostacean definitely not implantation bleeding as not had unprotected sex and condom wasn't split. I'm tracking it for another month to see if anything happens next month as well. Thank you.

Hmm, I’d assume it’s a light period then, esp as you’ve not had them for a while. Maybe use something like Flo (the app)? I’ve heard it’s good although not used it myself and you can track eg cervical mucus too, to see whether you appear to be ovulating. Good luck :)

Thanks! Remembered I've got an app from before I was pregnant that I used. Had to tell it I wasn't 8 months overdue with my baby as the last thing I'd input was that I was pregnant. 😂😂 have had to reset everything on there in regards to length of cycles etc so we'll see how things are

Mine didn’t have an option to say I wasn’t pregnant, so it just kept telling me I was on day 156 or whatever of my cycle 😂

Hope it goes well for you, and things become clearer!
