Anything to worry about or just delayed period?

Hi

I came off the pill April this year to regulate my periods read for us to start trying around about July time I got my first period May and 3 after with varied cycle lengths (I’ve read this is normal when they’re starting back up again?)

Anywho my last period was due 27th July I was 17 days late and had 2 negatives the last taken on 11th Aug. Around about then I started with lower abdomel cramps and slightly towards the right side groin area (knicker line) Nothing major and continued on and off over the weekend.

However yesterday I got some spotting and the cramps were constant and shooting pains on the right side. Around 5pm I went extremely dizzy and sick with a sudden headache (lasted 45mins) and then I was okay. The cramping and right aching started again around 10:45 and I had light bleeding when I went to the toilet. I was very uncomfortable for the majority of the night.

Woke up this morning with what seems like the start or a period (after 39 day cycle) but I still have the ache/pain down the right lower side. Anything to worry about or just the harshness of a late cycle?

Please get checked out. It could be absolutely nothing but it could be an ectopic pregnancy.

I read about this but wasn’t sure with having the negatives or if I was just being paranoid and over thinking. It’s not rolling around pain but it’s noticeable on the right side.

I still get these pains. GP told me it was wind. Went to A and E and was told they didn't know but wasn't a hernia and couldn't feel anything.
Went back to GP (different one) who got me a scan done. No cysts or cancer.
So they never found out. I got a positive pregnancy test 4 days later. Pains stopped throughout but have returned since having the baby.

I second getting checked out as I was worried it was an ectopic pregnancy. Pain suddenly hit. Never felt anything like it at the time. Now it's more of a constant ache.

@deadoorpost thanks for your reply. Docs thought same and rang hospital. Gyno wouldn’t see me unless I had positive pregnancy test. Doc suggest A&E on my terms and wrote a letter. Doing another test tonight and at the end of the week if I can get though. Pains get any worse I’ll go straight to hospital.

I’ve got bad back ache and I’m extremely tired currently. May just be bad case of period pains with it being so late but will keep my eye on pains etc if that get any worse I’ll just ring for help.

Thanks so much guys and I’ll keep you updated! Positives if it is a period we can start trying agIn after as I was worried it wasn’t going to come back!

@Zelda28 bodies are weird and sometimes you just never find the answer.

FWIW we were actively avoiding pregnancy at the time the pain first hit so no idea what it was. Was only the month we went and had the scan that I found I was pregnant.

Hi guys sorry it’s been a while! Ended up being a 39 day cycle and an extremely bad and painful period. Hospital wouldn’t check me out at all for anything bloods/scans as no positive hpt. All okay now and regular cycles so far!
