Confused. Help a girl out.

Okay. I don’t know how to work out how many weeks I am. I had sex on or around 13th July, but when I type that in to a baby due date calculator app it says I’m 6 weeks pregnant? Doesn’t make sense? As it’s the 13th today, wouldn’t that make me 4 weeks pregnant today?

Whenever the first day of your last period was that's the date you have to use when calculating your due date. Then when you go for your dating scan they'll give you a more accurate date. My due date was only 1 day out.

There’s two ways to find out how far gone I am, and that’s by either using a baby calculator and choosing the last period option or date of conception option. I went for the conception option as I don’t know the date of my last period, which only lasted two days though I do remember that, and it said I was 6 weeks.

Usually you conceive 2 weeks after the start of your last period
The date is always worked out from your last period so adds 2 weeks

If you used conception date, it will add two weeks on to work out how far along you are.
This is because you usually ovulate around the middle of your cycle 🙂
Your period should have been roughly 2 weeks before you conceived x

It is a bit confusing because basically for the first 2 weeks you aren’t really pregnant but it’s how they work it out.
Your 12 week scan will give you a date though
