Egg freezing short protocol side effects

I’m 39 and myself and my partner are starting ttc

Due to my age and some initial wobbles my partner had about having a family I planned and booked to have my eggs frozen and start treatment next week.

Inspite of partners wobbles being behind us I’m going forward with the treatment anyway as if we run into any problems ttc naturally it’s a tiny back up (I know the statts on this but it’s the only thing I can do)

Sooo much question is..

Have anyone here had short protocol ivf for egg freezing. And if so what side effects have you experienced during the process.

I’m quite hormone sensitive and get exhausted at totm so am scared I’m going to be a wreck!

Sorry I don’t mean ivf I mean ovarian stimulation using injection and then egg retrevial

I had short protocol ivf, so similar... have you seen the bbc article from yesterday?

Honestly age is super against you with egg freezing... and slightly better for ivf. Seems a waste of money to me if not going for the full ivf (which would have a less than 20% success rate roughly).

Side effects I experienced: moodiness (quick to anger) fatigue, bloating. The bloating lasted several weeks after ec and my clinic was concerned I'd overstimulated (18 eggs collected).

Yes I know the statts my doctor went through them with me and do I realise they’re really not great but I feel like if I didn’t do this and then had difficulties in the future I would regret not giving myself every tiny hope I could. And while it’s a lot of money I have budgeted carefully to afford it. So for me it’s the right choice.

Thanks for the heads up on symptoms daftly I booked a mini 3 day holiday without thinking the week I’m injecting. Suppose to be a romantic getaway but I’m not sure if these symptoms will allow it gahhhh!

They may also want to scan you often (I had scans most days during stims).

Just a scan at the beginning and the end thankfully

But that's the thing - how will they know how you're responding and when 'the end' is? I under-responded so they upped my dose and then I slightly over-responded...

Hi guess my question was about the side effects not the process.

I will trust my care team with that. They’re aware of my plans
