I've used them for the first time this month. On Sunday I had the Low Fertility circle, then on Monday I had a static smiley!

It feels like a very expensive way of monitoring my ovulation if I do habitually ovulate early & quickly in my fertility window... Particularly if I can't use the holder again for the next cycle.

I did an IC on Monday night and whilst it was a strong line, it wasn't quite positive, which made me think the CB did catch the surge.

I also like that you use FMU with the CB, as that's much more convenient for me.

Patty29 · 08/08/2018 10:39

Hey, yes this is my 1st time using it and i have negative and positive i started using it from Cd 10 and Cd 11 got circle then cd 12 & 13 (today) got flashing smiley face it seems accurate for me at min but the test stick is showing 2nd line still faint does that matter? Also sbud u dtd on the high days too and wait for peak? Xx

Last month I had about three weeks of flashing smiley faces and no static smiley. Don't know if it means I didn't actually ovulate or just that it didn't pick it up!

Am using them together with the cheapo ovulation tests this month to see if that helps me track it any better!

Had a blank circle yesterday and then a flashing smiley today which just about ties in with the Flo app.

Also started doing BBT and using the FF app but as that's all so new I don't know what I think of it!!

AdilRamisTache · 08/08/2018 11:12

@HelloBrass You can use the holder for your next cycle, so not so expensive after all. I use an average of 5-6 tests a month, so a 20 pack lasts me three months or so usually.

I've conceived three times using CB digital ovulation tests, so I am a big fan. You need to use them properly though, so read the instructions carefully.

Patty29 · 08/08/2018 11:34

Hey Adil, ive been on the high fertitly the last 2 days the flashing smiley, can u concieve on them days tho? Or wait until the peak. Xx

HelloBrass · 08/08/2018 12:17

@AdilRamisTache Excellent! Thank you! I don't know where I got that idea from. You've saved me a small fortune!

8DaysAWeek · 08/08/2018 13:38

I have a feeling you can use the holder again which is good for storing info, but you can't actually just buy the sticks alone?!

AdilRamisTache · 08/08/2018 14:45

Everyone's different Patty29, so I wouldn't like to say. But I've always conceived by having sex before the static smiley, I have quite a short sharp surge and worry about missing it.

Sperm can live for a few days, so I figure it's no bad thing for as many as possible to be hanging around in the fallopian tubes prior to the egg being released!

Patty29 · 08/08/2018 15:10

Thank you. Ive heard alot of good reports about the dual digital one.. my lower stomach has been sore jus above bikni line never noticed them pains before xx

I had 17 flashing smileys before solid last cycle. Going to use them alongside cheapies this month to avoid spending a small fortune again.

Mcdonald234 · 09/08/2018 01:23

@kingofthemountains and @chanel They advise you to stop testing after 9 days of flashy smileys!

I’m finding them easy to use but I’m still getting to grips with my cycle and think I have a surge before I ovulate which makes it tricky. One month I had two peaks (I know you aren’t supposed to test after a peak) but I was having ovulation symptoms and the test peaked unusually early for me.

Chanel05 · 09/08/2018 07:34

@Mcdonald234 haha I know, I was unstoppable! I did ovulate eventually though!

FlapJackered · 09/08/2018 07:39

I am on day 10 of the flashing smiley and ready to throw the damn thing out of the window 😂🙈
@Chanel05 do you mean you had 17 days of flashing smileys? Or did you take more than one a day?
I think I am going to keep going until Saturday then stop testing.
Last cycle I had one flashing smiley then static so I was quite a fan until this cycle!

kingofthemountains · 09/08/2018 08:09

@Mcdonald234 yeah I do know that but it was driving me crazy!! (This whole TTC is making me a bit nuts to be fair!)

@Chanel05 hi again...better luck this month?!

Chanel05 · 09/08/2018 08:44

@FlapJackered 17 days of flashing smileys! I got my static on the 18th day. Pretty sure that my body geared up to ovulate earlier in the month (very wet cm and was doing ic opks in the afternoon) and it never happened. Exactly 10 days after this, I ovulated. Have you got any ic’s to use alongside?

Chanel05 · 09/08/2018 08:45

@kingofthemountains hi! :) fx again definitely! What cycle day are you on?

Patty29 · 09/08/2018 09:19

Im on cd 14 today and i am on my 3rd smiley face.... dont know if i will peak or not now xx

OP posts:
FlapJackered · 09/08/2018 09:42

@Chanel05 - that is good to know as I feel like I'm going mad this cycle!
I am using IC opks too so I do feel like I am constantly poas at the moment!

Chanel05 · 09/08/2018 13:39

@FlapJackered I googled it to death and there were loads of online posts saying you’ll get the static eventually or I got mine on day 12,14 etc. I got so fed up of reading it because I wasn’t convinced it was even going to happen at that point. Though to be honest, I sort of enjoyed the obsessiveness of poas 3 times per day. Possibly not the right attitude 😂.

Have you got anything to take your mind off them for a while? Sorry to read that your cycle is giving you some gyp this month. What day were you anticipating to ovulate?

kingofthemountains · 09/08/2018 13:48

@Chanel05 CD14 here. Day 3 of flashy face like @FlapJackered. Flo app thinks ovulation will be CD18...but we'll see! Am using ClearBlue OPK first thing and then a cheapo strip in the evening.

Am tracking BBT now and that is falling which would indicate heading towards ovulation but haven't done it before now so not sure what I'm looking for!

Patty29 · 09/08/2018 14:02

Hey ladies im onnday 3 of flashing smiley faces on clear blue im cd 14 today! But the cheap strips im using off ebay the one step i aint seeing hardly a 2nd line.. any thoughts on this?? Xx

OP posts:
Chanel05 · 09/08/2018 20:27

@kingofthemountains hope that you get that static smiley soon! I don’t know anything about temping either, resisted buying one this month.

Trying SMEP instead so will see how that goes. 9-14 bd’s ahead 😮.

kingofthemountains · 09/08/2018 21:10

@Chanel05 not sure I have the stamina for SMEP never mind DH!!!

FlapJackered · 09/08/2018 23:13

We tried SMEP this month and already failed. It sounds like a good plan in theory but it does takes some energy! 😂

@Chanel05 - that's good to know I'm not the only one! I am off on holiday on Saturday so I am debating whether to take them with and keep testing or just leave them and call it a day this cycle, what would you do?
I have irregular cycles so no set day I ovulate, it's all over the place, which is probably why I am having issues with the tester!

Chanel05 · 10/08/2018 08:58

@kingofthemountains not sure if I do either to be totally honest 😂 I’m hoping that this cycle will be shorter than 35 days to knock a couple of bds off 😂.

@FlapJackered sorry to hear that SMEP wasn’t a success for you. Do you think you’ll try it again?

For me, personally, I would bring them on holiday anyway, only because I know I’d be cross with myself for not bringing them. I’d rather the hope and then annoyance, rather than just annoyance at myself for leaving them home if that makes sense? I haven’t had experience of irregular cycles so I’m sure it’s totally a different ball game when you don’t know if you’re coming or going. That being said, they say it happens if you take your mind off it! Are you going somewhere nice?
